I've been busy cabbing away but haven't managed to take any pictures. I had to take one of this and post it right away. Its a doublet of Stinkingwater Plume Agate that I got from gem97845 with a backing of local white quartz. The twist comes with the color I added. I have a product called PearlEx that I buy from a local art supply store that I've used it with epoxy to fill voids in woodturnings. I thought why not add it to the epoxy I use while doing a doublet. This agate was a bit cloudy so I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I was pretty surprised at how vibrant it got. It also has a flash to it. PearlEx is made from ground mica.

Woohoo! Awesome doublet Tony!!!! I especially like that the additive contains a natural substance (Mica).

That's mighty purty, Tony. In a few years, maybe I'll get good enough to try something like that! LOL! In my dreams!

Looks like you did a fine job. Can we get a shot from the side and/or back?

OK here's the back And the side. I left the glue joint a little heavy to ensure that I had good color saturation.

That is gorgeous. The color looks like the color of very gemmy rhodocrosite. I love the white plumes against the pink.

Wow, Tony I am impressed!! Adding the color background really sets the plume off. Great work!

Wow! The glue really made the Stinkingwater pop! Does this glue additive come in colours other than red? I have quite a bit of Stinkingwater that is also a bit cloudy, and does not look very good as it is, but the coloured glue layer makes a huge difference. Woody

It looks fantastic, Tony! Let me check if I got it right: the pink color comes from the epoxy layer? Usually I'm not a fan of artificially enhanced colors, but hey that does look just great!
