I was sitting doing some thinking today (guess where) and I had an idea. If I took one of these and combined it with one of these I think I can make one of these What do you think?

LOL! I don't know - I've made mine vibrate oncet or twicet, from the proximity to the origin of the sound waves! ;D

Cool idea, a desktop vibe tumbler! Talk about a conversation piece!

Would the rubber be too soft? Vibe bowls are pretty rigid.

Nope just in the planning stage. It is going to be attempted at some point though.

Are ya gonna need special grit, on account of the special bowl you're using?

Built it tonight. Managed to gather up all the pieces out of the scrap pile. Yes the plunger is new. I got it running right now. Its a little dirty because I started it without a lid to see what it would do. Thats a little spashy.

AWESOME! Nice work Scott. I can't wait to see how it polishes.
What are you running in it?

I recently had the motor die on my rotary tumbler so I just dumped in a 3lb barrel into the new vibe that was running on the rotary. I still gotta look up some vibe instructions, but I couldn't wait to test it and that was handy. There was a combination of agate, jasper, and pet wood in that barrel. It seemed a little moist compared to other vibe in action pics I have seen so I might need to adjust it tommorrow.

I did some reading and what I found said I was using way too much water. I restarted it today with 220 grit. I have never used a vibe though so I'm not sure exactly how much water. After a couple of hours it didn't seem to have much of a slurry developing so I took some water out. I'll post a video tommorrow of what happens. This is a video of my first go. As you can see they are moving around really nice but the grit doesn't seem to be working around. Hopefully less water helps.

That's a great set up. Can't wait to see it. The action seems to be a little slower than what I've seen in other vibrating tumblers, but it is working. Way to go.

Hell its a motorized toilet plunger. I'm just happy to see it going. I checked it quick on the way to work and it's developing a slurry now so some grinding is happening. I'll take a video when I get home.

Dude, it's actually got vibe action. Nice job! I could see into the bottom and it looked like it was too wet, but if you got a slurry forming, then let it go. Rule of thumb for the vibe is, dampen the rocks (rinse in a colander), put in vibe bowl, add grit or polish, watch it and add squirts from a squirt bottle as needed for the grit to stick to the outside of the rocks, and let 'em roll!
The Tidy Bowl Man called, he wants come take a ride in it. ;D Jo

Thanks Jo that was exactly the info I was looking for. I have never seen a vibe in action so I had no idea how much water to use. I actually took some water out of it from the first video then It started working. I don't know about mass production, you have no idea how long it took to make a mount for a toilet plunger. Athough I do have some ideas for a mounting design change in mind. I wouldn't mind having more than one and the price is pretty low. Would have to come up with a brand name too. How does a "Crapo Tumbler" strike you? Anyhow here is a video of what its doing now.

Not bad action. I'm curious to hear from a Lott-o person on their opinion as it compares to the Lott's action.
Better patent that name fast! ;D
Seriously, are ya gonna make a separate bowl for the polish cycle, to avoid contamination? And are ya use anything special to clean the bowls between grits like toilet bowl cleaner or a toilet brush? ;D
