Well it has been months since I have had a chance to cab, thought I better start practicing for Dan's contest, LOL!!!!
Some of these have been in various stages of completion for months!!! I got a new 220 galaxy wheel and Tony got me an expandable drum and some belts to fill in gaps, a 400, and 6,000. Although I get going and forgot to go back and use the 6,000, LOL I really think the new Galaxy and the 400 are helping me to get a better shine. I was lazy and thought I would photograph these outside on a nice day we had, but now I see I also captured reflection and glare
I missed cabbing and it was fun to get a chance to make time for it!
Deschuttes from HPD! This is the greatest material to work, so hard and gets such a nice shine!
Glass from the estate sale:
Tampa Bay Coral from Ken! He sent me several balls, some were hollow this was the only piece that was solid, it is so pretty in person, I love this Ken!
Pumpkin Obsidian from Catman
Petrified AZ Rainbow Wood, from Kap
Fish Eye Agate-I love this stuff but what a bugger to work, very uneven hardness, this cab is terrible, flat, bumps, etc, will have to try another piece of it!
Laguna-from the estate sale!
I loved this piece with the druzy center, sort of odd shaped, but I love Laguna's!
Priday Thunder egg-From HPD
I loved all the stuff going on in here, so the shape is deformed preform!!!!! Love this though!
Back Lit
Red Horse Canyon Moss Agate-sold to me as "rare red"! I really loved this piece, it has so much going on, Tony suggested maybe I make a doublet of it, to really show the reds.
Back lit
Enjoy!!!!
