Howdy folks, These 14 cabs came out of the 33B this afternoon. Very pleased with the results. Thanks for looking.....Mel Botswana moon and a Tee Pee Canyon. A little erosion of the softer matrix occurred on the TP in the vibe fine grind but i still like it. Woodward black plume and a tooth shaped porcelain type jasper from the inside of a Hauser Bed T-Egg. Closer shot of the tooth. Love this stuff. Reminds me of Willow creek. Big two inch Botswana Purple Plume from the north Cady Mountains. Top part is actually as purple as Burro creek. My camera doesn't like purple. Golden Texas Palm fiber from Three Rivers cut with the grain and fiber from La Grange, Texas: The light and dark of it. One of the more transparent pieces of palm fiber I've ever cut and black palm fiber from Toledo Bend: A purplish royal Imperial jasper from Mexico and kind of a crappy brown Biggs cab: Strange black plume from Woodward where the plume is sort of washed out to a shadow. Odd plume type that I've only found in one biscuit . And finally: Up at Hornitos, the local prospectors call this myrickite and it's supposed to contain mercury but I think it's just sort of an odd cherry cream breccia.

Rockdewd: Yep, 14 days in Rockshed AO polish. I actually get as good or better shine from the tumbler than I can get on the wheels......Mel

Beautiful drooly stuff, Mel. I like all of them, but I keep going back to the Bot's .... they are hypnotic!

Hey Mel,
Nice cabs. I appreciate this post because I have been shaping a bunch of cabs that I plan on finishing the same way. I feel more confident about my plan now.

Impressive set of cabochons! I take it a 33B is a rotary tumbler. You got a killer polish with it. I'll have to try some cabs in my tumbler. The only problem is that it will probably take me a couple of years to fill up my 12-lb Lortone. Garry

Garry: I guess it would take awhile but you do want a high proportion of plastic pellets and tiny filler relative to the number of cabs in the tumbler. The 33B is a double 4# barrel rotary. The action of barrels on the 12 pounders with their faceted interior just might be a bit too rough on cabs....Mel
