Hey Toad, I drive my husband crazy! I have at least 1 bucket of rocks - to be cut, to be slabbed, to be cabbed, to be tumbled.....in every room of my house I think!! Next to my kitchen sink is the bucket of cabs ready for fine grind! Next to my front door is the to be slabbed buckets, etc etc!! Yep...I think I am a crazy rock freak!! Marie

My wife doesn't understand either. Right now I only have a couple neatly packed boxes of rocks in the garage and she doesn't want anymore. C'mon honey, I could be collecting ATVs and snow mobiles...

Toad, how do you stand it! Only 2 buckets? I'd start getting withdrawal symptoms with that few still to work. I know I'll never live long enough to work all my rocks, but I'm going to give it one heck of a try. I take around 200 - 300 lbs of rock to be worked everytime we change location. Not to mention my trim saw & flatlap. My poor husband just shakes his head, lifts his hand & face & says: "Why me Lord, why me?".

Thanks Jo!! Hey you guys, my husband complains...but oh well! My house too, I say! I do tend to neglect some other things that I SHOULD be doing....but oh well again! This is so much more fun! What's really sad is, I have all these rocks, and preforms to be done, and agates to be cleaned up, but I still "need" to go out hounding for more....OCD...has to be the culprit!! LOL I have gotten 5-6 more of these done today....and started another one. Gonna get dark soon, then I don't have enough light in there to see what I am doing very well, I go as long as I can then gripe cuz I had to quit for the night! LOL

Very nice job, that has to be very hard work. Was it as hard as making the afgan? Debby and Tom

Montana - not as hard as crochet, but still requires tons and tons of patience...especially when trying to shape the Lakers...they are so hard! The aphgan just took a lot longer to do!! Marie

Hey Marie that's a pretty neat set up. What was the plastic box before it became your cab lab?

Roswell - When I lived in Texas, I had a "bakery" of sorts running out of my home kitchen. This is a plastic cookie box, or was then, and since I don't do any a lot of that stuff anymore the thing was just sitting in the top of a closet...I converted it! I actually got it from a local convenience store there that was replacing this one with a "newer & bigger" box to display donuts and cookies for sale, they just gave it to me. There were 3 plastic trays that slid in to it, and they too have a purpose...holding different ypes of rocks!! It only has 1 bad spot in it that leaks, which is the reason I have the towel under it, the left front corner leaks water if I get it too full, other that that, it works well for this. Marie

Thanks for the info. I could tell there used to be shelves, but couldn't figure out what it was.
Have you tried silicone caulk around the bottom on the inside? That might stop the leaks.

roswell...that would mean I would have to stop carving rocks long enough to clean it up, dry it, fix it, let it dry, ...man sound like a long time b-4 I could shape rocks again....I don't knoooooow. Amber - Yeah - well, he ain't gonna blow away any time soon, he don't starve, but my kitchen floor needs swept/mopped, and I need to vacuum......you know, that pesky stuff that gets in the way of shaping rocks!!!!! LOL
