Some cabs that I've done recently. Some are from material that Randy gave me and in the case that I forgot what it was (and until Randy identifies them) they will be called "Randysgottatellussite". Got a Brazillian from Randy Randy's Rock Shop Turtiella (Love these!) Ammy Sage, Randy Style One of my local Jaspers A Plasma Jasper from Randy Randy, this is the one I was wondering about, it's a Randysgottatellussite I think I bought this from Randy's Rock Shop (dropped about $150 total) A scrap piece from Randy's infamous rock pile-- this came from Rogue and was a Ruby/ Fuchsite I think An awesome golden sheen moonstone that Angie and I found the other day This one didn't make the cut for HPD's Halloween Cab Comp, it had a head with two eyes before I domed it. Note to self: make ovals bigger when I want to preserve the pattern! This is one of Randy's (becoming rare) Cobra Tiger Jaspers And the last Randysgottatellussite is: Last, but not least, Randy gave me an awesome slab of an Adularia Moonstone. I made a few cabs from it, but this one had blue flash. This was a tricky call, because we both weren't sure it was cut at the right angle. But this one cab makes up for it. Any cab post containing moonstone wouldn't be complete without some special effects, so here you go folks! Hope you enjoyed!!! Jo

Awesome job on the cabs!! The last "Randysgottatellussite" is Fancy jasper from Brazil. I'm not sure about the first one, is there any scrap left over from it? That would maybe help me ID a little better (I think) ;D

Okie dokie, I'll go dig. I did it when I was in Hatteras, so it may have been a scrap from your place. One never knows when they are plumbing the depths of Randy's Rock Pile!!!!! Thanks Randy! Means alot from one's mentor!!!!!!!!

Jo, Those are absolutely beautiful! You really do a nice job getting the sheen in the moonstones. The only thing missing in the video was the sound of the ohhh's and ahhh's. It looks like your camera is working just great too! That cab you made from a scrap (of "Indian ruby in fuchsite", according to Mel) is something else too! I've never seen those colors all in one rock before. Great post. Garry

Beautiful cabs, Jo! The sparkle in the moonstones is amazing, you're right a movie is needed to figure out about it. Hey Randy, do you have any stones left or did Jo pick them all? ;D

You guys, I know! I was rooting through his pile (the famous one), and I was like, "WHAT THE HECK IS THIS???" and he's all smooth, relaxed, and easy-going about it. But, that Ruby/Fuchsite had the awesome-est color and patterning!
Yes! I did leave some of his rocks still there in the pile so Shannon and Dennis (and anyone else) will have some to drool over when they visit! Hehehe.
Garry, I was thinking about you! when I was using my step-son's camera to take pics while my camera was on holiday. It was like using this thing from a totally different planet! (just didn't have the capacity to take pics closer than 3 feet away). I was remembering our conversations about you cameras and chucking to myself! LOL
Adrian, Saskrock gets the credit for having the brilliance to figure out that these stones needed a movie debut! In talking with our local gee-allah-gist, what is unique about our area is the inclusions of minerals in with the Orthoclase that make all the sparkle along with the Microcline that give it color. This happened all due to techtonic plate action that caused a fissure in the Earth's crust allowing all the hot stuff causing the presence of Serpentine that makes it so unique.
Thank-you all! I'm not worthy!!!!

LOL, thats ok Jo.....you can take them all. I dont think we will be rooting through anyone's rock piles for a very long time . As it stands, we had to leave the Obsidian we just got, in the trailer because there's no space anywhere else for it. It sounds like a fun problem but really, when there's seriously no more room......LOL Like Den always says "its never a NEED thing" Shan

Thanks everyone. Randy, here is another slab of the material in question: Just wanted to update with a cab that I made today from the same golden moonstone. And this is how big it is: It's the smallest cab that I've done so far. Had the urge this morning for a ring, so this is what it turned into: Yes, it turned cold here and I should be using more hand lotion! Oh well, LOL, guess I'll never make it as a hand model. Speaking of models, here's Angie modeling her new foo-foo wear. All for now! Thanks for checking us out! Jo
