Wow very nicely done! I like the enclosed area for the barrels. Looks like pvc barrels like I use on my tumbler. Does the box silence the noise?

yes it is 6" pvc. I just started my first batch and all I hear is the motor humming.

Very nicely done. The only thing that I see may be a problem is if the barrels spring a leak, may mess up the nice cabinet. Maybe a shallow plastic tray underneath the barrels.Overall,A+

Very cool cabinet. I like that idea. It would be good for adding a light to keep the temp above freezing for us northerners.

What size are those rods that you're driving it with, and what did you cover the rods in?

Good questions. I have a 1720 rpm motor w/ 2" pulley. The drive is a 3/4 shaft w/ heater hose slipped over it with a 10" pulley. The OD of the Pvc is 7 1/2" which (by my rithmatic) gives a final rpm of 45.86. I don't know how to figure what it will hold but I am guessing about 7 lbs.

I like it. I've been toying with the idea of making a tumbler that would hold all our barrels and now that I've seen yours I know it needs to be a cabinet. Thanks for the inspiration.

That is just downright nifty! I really like the idea of drawers right there where everything can be stored. And the lid to cut down the noise is +++ !
Great looking cabinet!

Nice job! You might want to get some 1/8" black rubber mat material, the kind with the grooves, and line the inside of your barrels. It will cut down on the noise and more importantly, it will give better tumbling action and protect the rocks a little better. When I did mine, I just used abs cement(I used 4" abs pipe) to glue the rubber to the barrel.

Just happened to be browsing the site and saw this, great job! I liked the idea of the cabinet too. Happy tumbling!

That is very neat. I am curious to find out how the pvc holds up to the grit and rocks wearing on the inner wall. I bet you could even make a 24" long barrel for the big loads. Well done.
