Howdy folks,
OK this final category for Oregon #5 will be the catch all category for all the quartz gem materials that don't fall into the previous four categories. For example:
Orbicular agate, poppy jasper, polka dot agate, orbicular rhyolite Banded and fortification (non-thunderegg) agate nodules Brecciated jasper and other non picture, jasper forms variously patterned vein agates like lace, banded etc. Various common opal, opalite, rhyolite etc etc.
Again, thanks, in advance, for all your help! Lowell and I could not pursue this project without the contributions of all you other rock enthusiasts. Together, we can make this living database a truly exceptional resource....Mel

I'm a little big on Carnellian too. Nice specimens folks and cuts fossilman. I got a few of those in my collection I got to show you. I pulled this cab out of a smaller chunk. The rest is still in raw form.

Gorgeous materials come from Oregon! Really like your self-collected Oregon carnelian beauties, Fossilman! Love your carnelian cab, spiritstone. Carnelian, especially from Oregon, is one of my faves, too. Here's an Oregon carnelian cobble with opal and white plumes. Not sure of location in Oregon, but can find out

That one is totally awesome with the reds.... Ever thought of just shaving it on two sides?

Some Oregon "fire opal" agate I bought from Tony.... Is this the Juniper ridge material? It sure is a sharp coloring. Was eyeing some of it up also.
