Aggatized Acrocyathus Coral -Tributary creek of Saltfork River-Vermilion County-Illinois ............Aggatized Porifera Sponge-Middlefork River-Vermilion County -Illinois You may have just helped me ID another rock that I've not been able to figure out since I got it! Possibly 2. Does this look like your pix above?? It's like a glossy large potato: closeup of above: Other rock, that resembles above, but is not glossy, looks like cauliflower blobs, with roughly the same type texture as cauliflower (the white one on far left): Haven't been able to figure out what any of these are, but they are all really neat looking!

Yup . First one is a sponge agate geode . others are geodes . top looks to have coral features still evident . all the sedimentary midwest geodes, agate geodes ,were fossils .

Thanks Tandl!!! If they are geodes.. does that mean they could be hollow inside if I manage to cut them in 1/2?? I'm not cutting the first one no matter what... it is SOOOO cute as it is that I wouldn't cut it up if I knew there was a solid gold egg inside. But what are the chances that the bottom 3 big ones are hollow or have interesting content? (the smallest one was cut up by Wampidy... and it's OMFG amazing inside). Here's 2 closeups of a slice the omfg amazing inside: The magenta purple parts GLOW, almost like a daylight UV (my slices - we split the rock): The other 3 are so big, I'm not sure they could be easily cut anyway, but they came from the same Estate collection, and the rocks were collected a minimum of 30, possibly 50, years ago, and apparently come from your part of the country.
