Thanks for the advise connrock and Jack. I know well about level, a two-footer just fits the 27" w/bumper rail out. This is our third vib. and I have cussed the same problem with all. First was an older one [Star Diamond 20"] that we ran out of work for some time ago and sold it. Second [15"] was bought cheap w/missing parts. Fixed it up, used it a little and sold it to a lady looking for that size. The 27" is newer and we were told it would work better, bah. Gathering pieces to make a flat rotary finisher/polisher, 24" dia. Jack, where do you get the lambs wool pad? Most of the stuff I'm running is too big to readily handle by hand on a wheel. Ma [the boss] says pieces look fine to her, youngest stoppped by yesterday eve. and was impressed [did a load of big t-eggs for friends of his], but picky old Larry just doesn't like the texture; polish is fine. Methinks a rotary finisher will work.

In my 20" fulmer Vibra - Lap i had to use 1/4" polyester carpet. woven wool may work tight weave, thick. Jack

Friend use`s the 9" grinder to rough shape sphere blocks, and roughing out blanks for Giant Cabs he makes. Size of cabs range fro 5" - 12"........ the larger shops may have old tools for sale. Jack

Thanks Jack, going to keep trying things 'till I'm happy. I'll let you know what works for me; when I find it.

Connrock, that is the best description of how to I've seen. I gave up on an old Lortone vibe lap after trying a BD wet polisher. Much faster and less frustrating.
