Randy sent me this slab... DANG!!! I have been sitting around for months wondering what to do with this beautiful stone that is chalk full of druzies. Thought I would stabilize it.... YEAH RIGHT! Did a couple drops of super glue into one of the druz patches and it just leaked through to the other side and glued my stone to a paper plate. Humph! Doesn't matter, this has got to be one of the of the prettiest stones I have ever seen!! Hope you weren't trying to test me Randy, because if you did.... I failed.... Cabbed a little tiny piece of it, druz pits and all. I really like it! ~Krystee

That's a great cab, don't do anything to the druzy pockets, just cab the rest of it.

You did a great job with it! I have a slab of that also from Randy. I am going to have to pull it out and cut a preform. Yours turned out great! Fran

Thanks everyone! 16 Randy? WOW, I spent all day on one Btw, do you stabilize any of the vugs when you work on them?

Nope, I leave them alone. My way of thinking is that it's part of the natural stone, and the crystal vugs add to the cab. BTW, I just finished 3 more cabs, gonna do more after dinner ;D

Beautiful work! I love the pattern and colors. One way to stabilize a rock with lots of cracks is heating rock to 150 Degrees then apply mercury adhesive M5T. I believe it should soak up the glue like a sponge. Then do you cabbing and polishing after it sets up. Nice work!
