Did a little digging in the basement this morning and found these. They haven't seen the light of day in over 16 years. 1-3/4 lb blue tigereye with small patches of gold. 2 lb gold tigereye. Don

The light colored area at the top of the golden tigereye is a 5/16" thick cap of clear agate, with golden and black needles extending all the way through. Wish it was thicker. I'd have to shave that off and cab it.

You could charge a fee for hounding in your basement and make a fortune. Jim

It's the back shed you'd want to hound in. Too cold out there right now, so I'm houndin the basement. Here's another I brought up from the basement this morning. It should cut an almost 3" sphere.

There are probably countless treasures buried in the basements and garages of RTH members...

There sure are in my basement. We moved here coming up on 16 years ago, and I'm still finding unopened boxes in the basement. Don't even need a rock hammer. Just a pocket knife to cut the tape on the boxes.

Thanks Don, and you know you are always welcome to dig through my stash. I must have 80-100"'s of agates that have small fairburn windows in them. They just need work.

Final one for today from that box. Cave wall drippings. This piece was collected when the highway over the Cajon Pass was being widened and straightened. They broke into a small cave during construction. The area is almost on top of the San Andrias fault. Some of the small stalactites in this piece are broken and re cemented. The cave was sealed and covered shortly after I collected this.

Oh what the hell, one more tonight from the same box. This is a piece of pet wood or tree fern that I collected way back in the 50's. Just thought it was interesting and kept it all these years.

What did ya quit so soon for? Pretty cool treasures you are finding! That pet wood looks pretty interesting, like it has some real neat patterns in it!

Still have a couple more from that box to post, but I have to wash the dust, dead bugs and mouse turds off of them first.

Ha, so the mice have been the only ones enjoying them all these years...
