Do you get your rocks back, or do they become the property of the club?

They send you around three pounds of rough, you send back 1/2 pound that embarasses you the least. They keep the 1/2 pound, you keep the rest.

Sorry, Connrock, no exciting updates. One by one I am giving up on rough grind and determining that the _____(fill in the blank) flaw will not be helped by further rough tumbling. I've still got about a pound that are in 60/90; then bit by bit, hardness by hardness, they will go to the Lot-O.
These are not, nor will they ever be, perfect tumbles. Not even close!

Hi Susan,,, It sounds like these are some pretty tough rocks to polish! It can and does get frustrating when we try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear and have to settle for less then perfect! I've done a good bit of pet-wood and more of it was flawed then perfect. There's a point where we say "that's it and that's that" and except what we have! I think the best pet-wood I've ever done was Chinchilla from Australia. It's as solid as solid gets, has beautiful colors and takes an awesome shine! I know you'll do you best and that's all that really counts!
Good Luck,,

Hit em with 60/90 for 90 days, recharging every two weeks, is what I would do for starters ...

Sorry, Snuffy, no updates yet. Either they didn't notify the top five this year or Paul and I aren't in the top five, or Paul is holding out on me. I didn't send in any flawless rocks, and my only hope for the top five is that everyone's rocks looked like poop! Their show was this weekend, so we should hear in this next few days.
