This stuff is really neat! Daniel (deb193redux) sent me this super cool slab of Starry Night Obsidian. This was my first time working this variety. It works up similar to Snowflake but the inclusions are softer so a light touch is a must. The finished cab kinda reminds me of OJ. Love it, THANKS DANIEL!!!

Beautiful material with a killer shine. But then we wouldn't expect anything less from the queen of OB.

Sweet obsidian cab, Krystee! This variety is new to me, just more proof that nature still produces the most beatuiful glass ... And we're the lucky recipients of Nature's largesse!

What a great way to be introduced to something I've never seen before. Krystee, another home run, with help from Daniel!

Love the shape and material. I've seen starry night before but never the green coloring. Super cab Krystee! Or, at least it shows up green on my monitor ;D

Thanks everyone!
Gary, it's not green but maybe it looks that way due to all of the lighter spider web looking veins that run all through it. It's wild looking material. I think I took a picture of the slab too. I'll go upload it to photobucket so you guys can see it!!!

Here's the slab. The Starry Night is the one on the top right. On the left is a slab of Firecracker Obsidian (also from Daniel) that I haven't worked yet. The one on the bottom is the OJ slab that Stoner sent me (the one I entered in the last KCC). I took the obsidian slab pictures with the OJ because as soon as I got them I thought they reminded me of ocean jasper. Also, yeah, I changed my mind on the original shape I had penciled in and changed it to a water droplet.

I love this variety it reminds me of Firework Obsidian with the inclusions of color. Never realized that there were so many kinds of OB LOL I guess I was right about the friecracker I now see it in your pictures of the slabs
