Hate to advertise here but wanted to let everyone know I just added graded grit to my website. Prices comparable to Kingsley. I also lowered ceramic media but have not added some quantities yet. Gryphon grinding bits are all $14 ea. I'm going to have a promotion on the little Gryphette grinders too. $ 75 with a groove bit and 3/4" 120 grit cylinder bit. Quantities limited as it is hard to keep them in stock. Happy Thanksgiving all!

Is the Gryphon the one you use for making the grooves in the cabs for groove wrapping? If so I will definitely take one!

Any of their models work with groove bits. The Gryphette is their smallest, no frills model. It has a really powerful motor ("no stall motor"), 5 year warranty, and with a fairly small top surface the top doesn't flex like the larger, more expensive models do. That rigid top makes it easier to get a straight groove. I can do their other two, more expensive, more features models at plus $5 with a groove bit as well. All their glass grinders have a 5 year warranty.

Jake, I ordered mine last night. If you go to John's website you will see them there for $74.95 with the groove bit and 3/4" 120 grit cylinder bit. It's also available for $69.95 without the groove bit.

Just a word for those buying these machines. On page 53 of the Kingsley North catalog they have the grooving discs in 2 thicknesses and 4 grit sizes. They run from 80 grit to 600 grit. I'm not sure how thick the groover is that John's sending, but I'm thinking of ordering the whole set of the thinner groovers. With the whole set, you could bring the groove almost to a polish on the 600 grit. Also, you'd be able to use thinner wire on lighter cabs. If you're using sterling, this would save money. I'm also thinking that half round wire would save a lot of filing and polishing.

Only 7 -5/8" square by 6 - 1/2" tall. Doesn't take up much bench space.
