Ok now that I am toally confused. What this was cut from was definitely a really dark material.

Sorry, I personally cant confidently say.
Falls under one of those pieces that I would not argue if you told me it was either location. Did you cut that from a slab?

Every time we come across Canadian varieties, large or small we inquire about bulk. Carleton I have to say from your pics and description that it is Madagascar in origin. Here is a slab cut from the same rock. Perfect, I think your right. I'm not sure if its just the pic, but it is one of the darker varieties, it makes for nicer pieces in the Madagascar material. Nice rare colors too! Carleton
