I was inspired after seeing the mystery gelatin when I opened a can of Spam. Mmm yummy! LoL.. not really. A couple years ago I got in on a gross out game that my kids were having. they were naming off food combinations that would make the other sick.. like mustard ice cream and such. I waited 'till my daughter was taking a big drink of juice and I blurted out "beef jello". She shot orange Hi-C out her nose like ther was no tomorrow LOL. I just decided to use that name every since for web related things

Mine came about by my husband. I am only 5 foot tall so my hubby calls me Hobbit. When I would go out to my shop to work on my rocks, he told me that I was going out to the 'Hobbit Hut'. He then began to call me 'Rock Hobbit'.

hi, back in the late 1980's I went to a workshop where I actually did a firewalk. (twice) It was one of the peak experiences in my life. The 45 is the year I was born. No not 16, 17 or 18 but 1945. LOL Daniel

Mine's pretty self explanitory I think. My wife likes to give me a hard time about licking slabs and rocks, especially the ones outside or at rock shops. I guess I see a rock and really got to know what's inside right away.
BTW, I love this thread. Beefjello, I've always wondered. Baz, I like your website lots. My mom lives right next to Jerome too, and I keep trying to convince her to drive up the the site you have on your page. Learning about peoples names is so interesting. Steve

Mine is related to another hobby before I got much involved in rock tumbling. I have always enjoyed working on cars. I had a '74 VW Karmann Ghia that I got new, and it was probably my most favorite car of all the ones that I have owned. As with all things mechanical, it eventually wore out and I got rid of it. In hind site I wish I didn't. Anyway in September of 2002 I stumbled across a 1960 Ghia for $500. So, I got it and rebuilt it. My first drive in it was in September 2004. It was the first and only car that I ever more or less completely rebuilt, and there are still some never ending things to do on it. There were some forums, one in particular, on air-cooled VW's that were very helpful as RTH is for rock tumbling. I used the screen name "KG1960" and have used that everywhere since. Just for fun, I just ran a google on spacegold. The RTH profile popped up, but there is apparently a currency exchange company that goes by the same name. And from what I could see, it is getting less than rave reviews. Hmmmm.
