I finally had some time over the winter break to cut a section of the diamond bandsaw blade and drill a couple of holes. I now remember why I don't like working with steel....the holes took a long time to drill out.

I have resharpened a masonry drill, tungsten tipped, to drill hard steel. I don't know if its recommended practice or not but it works. The steel in those power hacksaw blades and bandsaw blades is good stuff, broken ones get repurposed as scrapers, knives etc. hence my need to drill holes in bits of it.

There are 10km rolls of Meyer-Burger diamond wire being sold on Ebay for $339... It is pretty thins stuff, ~350 microns, but with that much of it, might work for something.

I actually joined up here to see if anyone had built a homemade diamond wire saw... Thanks for the info, all of you.
