I'm so glad you posted this! It's gorgeous, but most importantly to me, now I know what kind of polish I can get on this. I have some really, really sweet parrot wing- just a little- that I have been afraid to work, but now I see how well it can be done, I want to try. You are truly an inspiration to me. Thank you!

You know Georgia folks are not always blessed with the gift of grammar Jean:) You know, I'm a Georgia folk too. When I lived there we called ourselves "peaches" rather than "folk", LOL! Haven't lived there in 21 years but got married at Stone Mountain on a Paddlewheel River Boat! Henry W Grady to be exact. Hmmmmm..... Wonder if that boat still operates at Stone Mountain?

Hey Krystee, You may have answered this before, but where did you get the rough for this. It's amazing and you always do a dynamic job. Deb

Nervous calling any one a Peach Krystee. That sounds dangerous. But that's what they call ladies around here since Georgia is the peach state. It is a compliment, insinuating beauty and sweetness. My wife is one of those too and she is not always as sweet as the name suggests:) haha Probably a reaction i cause ha Stone Mountain is 20 miles from where i was raised. I could see it from my house. We competed w/them in high school. John Herchenx is also a Georgia import. My sister lives in Eugene Oregon. Seems the Oregon folks love her and her accent. I am envious of you guys. The west is so magnificent. Good for you Kystee !! Henry W. Grady still running strong

Parrot wing, she ain't all the same, methinks. This cab looks highly silicified. What is the secret for handling the stuff???

It had some problems areas that I cut off. I'm thinking it will cab well and I'm hoping to get the kind of polish Krystee got.

I bought the slab from a Facebook friend who had it in his collection of over 30 years, he was very nice to offer me one of his last pieces but I don't know how to get any more of it? I've talked to a couple people that have some but no one is willing to part with any....

Mine was highly silicified with only a couple soft areas that were a red/brown color. I had no pitting or undercutting though. I used 50k diamond on smooth side out leather for the final polish and it polished well. I have seen people mention Parrot Wing Chrysocolla before and I am thinking that might be different and softer than the old stock Parrot Wing Jasper that I had. My piece was mined in Mexico.
