I don't think you'd like to know what the last stone would be valued at; I'm by no means an expert but I'm pretty sure the black spots are ruinous for value.

The black potch doesn't help value but I don't think it's "ruinous." In fact a dealer who sells Lightning Ridge black opals is very interested in that stone and we're negotiating. If it doesn't sell no biggie; I'll make a setting along the lines Christopher suggested and create a Christmas pendant for my wife. I heard her gasp when she first saw it so I'm pretty sure she'll love it. Rick
