Dang girl, not a bad turkey day haul. Glad to see I didn't get all of that orbicular material during my years of hounding those same areas. If you can work around the little pits, it takes a real nice shine. Not a good pic, but here's what it will cab up like.

Wow, that's pretty Don! I like my orbicular rhyolite a lot better now!

Susan, I have a hunk about 4 or 5 Lbs, waiting for warm weather cutting season. Got mine back in the 50's when surface hounding was still good. I had several big chunks which I've slabbed over the years. Slabs may vary from one to the next. Some will have lots of pits, while others will be nice and solid.

Wow cool! Mine was only about a tangerine size (which is a good size for my saw).

Susan, Thanks for the report & pix. About a year ago I went in via Afton Canyon Rd & parked by the campground. I walked over the tracks to the first canyon, & like you, I found zilch! The sun was setting & I had to drive about 5 more hours to Cedar City, UT, so I didn't get to the second or third canyons. I'll get back some day. Lynn

Thanks for taking us along, Susan. That was a really great report. It's a pleasure to see these trips and "participate virtually" LOL. Looking forward to seeing the slabs.
