What do you mean, snowmom?? You mean there is life beyond RTH?? Jeeze Jean, you aren't missing out on the fantasy world are you? You know, the one where everyone cares deeply about their fellow man and never thinks of themselves. Oops, my bad, that is only here so I guess it is rock related. Jim

Wow, aside from rocks I guess I'm mainly a quarter assed cowboy ( If I were better I'd be half assed *L*). Love horses and ride quite a lot. Spend a lot of my time helping with novice trail rides here on the ranch. Also love hiking, fossil hunting, reading, nature photography, birding etc. Anything that gets me out of doors is OK by me. Spent about 30 years as a senior Agricultural Biologist back in Commiefornia so of course, I love plants/gardening, bugs and anything that crawls, hops or flies. Did wildlife rehab for a raptor center for several years where I trained and lectured with birds of prey. My wife is also a biologist and horse fancier which is, I'm sure, the only reason she tolerates my company and my weirdness. Like they say," Birds of a feather flock together. " And that includes us odd ducks I guess *L*......Mel

ROFL, rockpickerforever and @wampidy! I hear you, @shotgunner! Are you still heading to Atlanta? This is very close to the time last year when snowmaggedon occurred in Hotlanta. At the local range shooting some zombies. This was the last time I shot too high and then he made me build my own target stand. He's learning how to reload, which I hope to learn, too. Fishing, grilling, and kayaking. Rick lost his shirt in the lake after he turned his kayak over. He's learning fly tying, and hope this year he'll teach me how to flyfish. Working in the yard and adding new rocks to the rock garden while trying to keep it clean of debris. Love to read. Reading "Unbroken" about WWII hero, Louis Zamperini. Watching horse racing and working on lapidary materials (haven't been feeling too well with the jaw and tooth troubles). Love football, too. Go Dawgs! (sorry jamesp - but look out for Chubb this upcoming season!) Watch Wise Dan make his incredible move along the hedges in pouring rain.

Make paint for a living. Study martial arts with my 12-year old son. Love to read - currently starting the Wheel of Time series again. Occasionally get distracted by a video game - Skyrim.

LOL, jamesp. The Dawgs sure weren't prepared for the Tech's offense or defense, and the turnovers. Hope Chubb can stay in good health. (and not sign any autographs for money...ahem) Haven't been out to the local range since it received a makeover last summer, and a range officer, lol. Now, they lock the gate when the RO is not working. It received a nice makeover with new seats, tables, and a sound barrier thingy in the top of the covered shed area. But, you cannot bring your own target stands, and not too sure whether or not I can take my 870 out there either. Maybe claim I'm trying to get an idea of the splatter pattern. Found out that a local gun shop, Full Metal Jacket, is opening up an indoor range soon.

Skyrim is just about my favorite game ever. Good luck on the WoT re-read, really wish Jordan had a more aggressive editor helping him, the books became so mind-numbingly tedious and slow as the series progressed. by the end, I just read the cliff notes for the last few books and called it good. I highly recommend the Kingkiller chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss if you haven't checked it out yet.

Well, mostly I drink beer, lurk on forums since I don't usually have much to say, and in my spare time act as the yardman/photographer/record keeper/weed puller/website keeper-upper for the wife's daylily nursery. She's up to four gardens now, so it does tend to interfere with the beer and rocks some. Occasionally get to hit some back roads in the Jeep.

I have a couple of interests. Teaching, creating fonts, collecting songs from 1900 - 1960, electricity (I was a master electrician from 1960-1999, mostly working on coal fired powerhouses) woodworking, genealogy, politics, Anatomy, self defense, archaeology, astronomy, chemistry, elements & mineralogy, geology, hypnosis, physics, reading, sticking my nose where it doesn't belong . . .

The daylily website is a little out of date (rocks and beer got in the way), but we just finished reworking beds, dividing and replanting. Kenefick DayliliesFYI, they start as a seed, then multiply by growing additional plants from the original crown (root) to make a clump. Have to divide the clumps every few years so they don't get too crowded. The wife is an avid hybridizer, so she creates new varieties each season.

Lots of great variety here, might as well add mine too. Graduated with a horticulture degree and went to work for nazi # 1, literally. Well respected but a matter of fact sort of guy. Then left to work for nazi #2 a self proclaimed Lebensborn, that was left out of the job interview process. After getting some sanity back I went into a plasma fractionation company as a union guy. 17 years later I am the Quality guy there that gets paid to stick my nose where it doesn't belong, finally a good fit. After all those hours are blown I remodel the house, fix the cars, mow 5 acres where we live. (Bought the grandparents farm house, hense the remodel, it's pretty shagadelick) Farm with the father, care for my disabled wife, make sure the grown kids aren't starving and grandkids. Oh and I collect rocks too! Just stripped down and rebuilt a lortone combo unit. Works right and looks half descent to boot. That's about all. To relax I too get into skyrim and my favorite the fallout series. It would be nice for fallout 4 to come out this decade. Politics I stay out of since there are no choices anymore. I'll stick to my own you stick to yours, that is unless I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong. ( just habit I suppose)
