I read about your upcoming joy and decided to wait to see the family to say CONGRATS!! Papa KAP, you are blessed. Your daughter and son-in-law are special angels! Adopted children are a special gift from GOD.

I did not know the joy that was missing in my life until now! I love them with all my heart! I realized that my granddaughters have given me a second chance at seeing the world through the eyes of a child...mundane, ordinary things suddenly take on newness and excitement with them. It is truly amazing. And their open expression of love is overwhelming. We look at ourselves as being simple people, not superstars, or heroes, or anything out of the normal....they see us as all that and more....very humbling. When our first granddaughter was born there was a peculiar thing that happened at the hospital. I was paying for for my lunch at the cafeteria and when the cashier handed me the money I told her "I love you"....it just came out, I'd never met this person in my life. I explained that we'd just had a grandbaby, etc., and she just smiled, almost as if she'd been there before. Later that day I was talking with my son-in-law and he started telling me about telling the cashier at the gift shop the same thing (though he didn't know I had done the same thing). Just so much love was there...and it has only grown as they've gotten older...the oldest is now going on 9, the middel one going on 5, and the youngest, well, she's going on 2 months. With each successive granddaughter someone would say "I wonder if who they'll be like"...my response is "she will be herself". You are finding that out...each is their own person with different ideas, desires, and talents. You and your family (kids included! ) are well into a beautiful journey. Enjoy!!! And, congratulations again!!!! I'm still smiling.
