I can not help but chuckle at this. Younguns will be younguns. Years ago when I was a teenager I had a friend who couldn't resist "lighting one up". One day he grabbed a lighter, rolled back, and lit it up. The only problem was that he had a pair of double-knit britches on that day...kinda curled up the polyester in the active area. I always wondered about when his mother washed those britches what she had to say about it.

Only problem, he was wearing jogging pants and no underwear. Need I say more? The smell of burnt hair made us vacate the table.

What makes me smile is getting a text from my daughter mid day with a note saying I love you daddy. And then when she gets home from school she shows me her/my car with a new dent in it. Kids gotta love em.

Nice fish, Billy! Good to know someone has the fishing luck. Ha ha, no did not wear the same outfit this time (sorry captbob!), and no video (shucks!). Shorts, a t-shirt and a ball cap. I had the camera, so no pics of me. But I shoulda taken a Barbie pole, lol. Caught two small bass, both thrown back. Mrrockpickerforever caught a half dozen undersize bass, no keepers. I think he said he also caught a sculpin, and that got thrown back as well. Don't think there is a size limit on them, and they are good eating (I hear), but the limit on them (quantity) has been reached this year from the fishing fleet, and so they can't be taken until next season. Sad thing is, just about everything thrown back in immediately became seal fodder, like someone ringing a dinner bell. Don't think throwing them back in is going to be doing any good! My brother and nephew met us at the dock at o'dark-thirty. My brother caught about ten legal size bass. My nephew caught a big bonita, won the jackpot, something around $190. Whoo-hoo! At least all of us didn't get skunked. There was one yellowtail or yellowfin a woman brought in when we arrived at the first stop. I should say, she brought just the head in, as a seal got to it first. It probably would've been the jackpot winner. Well, Bob hadn't been out on a half day boat in over 23 years. Now he remembers how much "fun" it is, probably won't have to do it again for at least another ten. We got back home at noon, a little over an hour ago. And it is smoking hot and humid!!! Will be a kick back and relax in front of the A/C the rest of the day.

Finding an old picture. It was funny as hell watching the Ducks gang up on the Dog, so they could steal her food. Looks like your dog has duck hind feet : )

When I do something for my wife that is no more [to me] than what I would ordinarily do, and she smiles and says "thanks".

Perfect! Reminds me of the first few lines of the song Wooden Ships by Crosby, Still, Nash and Young-
If you smile at me, I will understand 'Cause that is something everybody everywhere does In the same language
Thanks for that, Pat.

AS mentioned previously, didn't catch any keepers on the half day boat yesterday. But before anybody says "pictures or it didn't happen," here's a few photos I took.
Heading out around 6:45 am.
Looking back towards home, and Mt San Miguel just to the east of my house
Something caught fire, adding to the sunrise. Never found out what it was. An offshore breeze, wind coming from the east.
One of the deckhands, didn't catch his name
Josh giving instructions to the newbies
Poles in racks
mrrockpickerforever
My brother and nephew. I went out with the two of them a year ago (same result!).
Some people caught fish. Here's fish in burlap sacks, waiting to be gutted and/or filleted by the crew.
Bass were probably the most fish caught, then some bonito, rockfish and sculpin.
So there's the proof, it really did happen!

Listening to my music. Reading happy birthday wishes from my RTH family! Knowing I won't be going out on a half day boat soon, for at least another ten years

When I started this thread a while back, I told you that seeing a loose chicken in my neighborhood would make me smile. While no one has said anything yet, I just know y'all are thinking, "Pictures or doesn't exist!" LOL.
I took my camera with me on my walk this morning, and was able to photograph the elusive bird. Funny that I could walk past it on the sidewalk within three feet of it, but as soon as I would stop to take a pic, it would haul @ss! Anyway, here's a few pics.
This is what she thinks of me!
Don't know what kind she is, but I still smile whenever I see her.
Lastly, while I had my camera with me, took a picture of the face in the sidewalk.
I think taking these pics to show y'all was a valid reason to dredge this old thread up. Was it worth it? lol.

Worth it? Yes! Smiles are valuable.
If I saw a chicken on the sidewalk, I'd stop and say hello, too : )
