Photobucket is saying that it's been renamed or deleted by owner... I can't tell for sure anything from the image in your post... Is it a few bags of garbage or an ongoing garbage dump site?

Video works for me. Did you call anyone that could do something about the dumping or just do the video?
Be nice to see that on the local news.

I remember years back a local businessman sent his kids with several bags of garbage to the dump, but they just went a mile down the road and threw them out in the ditch. Business id all in it.He was very pissed when he got fined!!! At his lazy stupid kids.

Ok, it worked for me here at the office. It doesn't look like a long-term, established dump site, but it's hard to tell. Definitely needs to be brought to the authorities attention. I'm always suspicious of isolated, but illegally dumped garbage bags with peoples names and addresses inside of them...it's a good way to "set up" somebody. It seems people wouldn't do something like this with their ID easily found attached to it....but there again, after so many generations of inbreeding in some families what do you expect?

In Oregon, we've lost access to some of the forest because of illegal dumping. Ugh! You're speaking of private forest, correct?

I find dump sites like that in the woods a lot. It's usually an old appliance or furniture, not bags of garbage. Sometimes I see where someone has dumped loose leaves or branches. That doesn't really bother me.

Lots of places around here have been gated off due to two things... The first thing is people abusing the property, throwing garbage out, driving through planted fields, etc.,. The second thing is hunting clubs...they've blocked off hundreds of thousands of acres here in south Alabama. The first owners are usually individuals while the second ones are usually paper/timber companies. I can't blame either one of them, but I tend to be disgruntled about the paper company land being blocked off. It use to be if you wanted to hunt it you could by a permit from the paper companies. Now you have to join a club...if you can afford it and if the club isn't "full".
As for the closures due to abuse, that is stupid...on the abusers part. They ruin it for the rest of us.

That doesn't really bother me. Rob, we get the occasional bed, stove, chair, etc., sitting beside the road in the middle of a deserted stretch of road. Worse, though, riding on a dirt road and crossing a little woodplank bridge to see a stove in the middle of the creek.

This is a classic way to discredit people. I've heard of this trick for being pulled for 20 years. Maybe 30. It was published in a popular series of revenge books back in the day. I don't know how you're supposed to both put your trash out for pickup and secure it against your stalkers etc. We can't sit around on trash day to make sure it's the actual garbage guys who get it. They don't show up at a certain time so you'd lose two whole days out of every week since sometimes they show up at 10 AM & sometimes they come at 8 PM. I don't think I'm giving people any ideas. This has been going on a long time. Keep in mind it changes a person's opinion of the poster of this kind of "evidence" if they have ever themselves been falsely accused of a crime. There is no defense against a false accusation. You can't disprove a negative. In the case described of the businessman and the kids, maybe he didn't pay the kids enough or they had some other reason they wanted to cause him trouble. I have no idea. Maybe they were just lazy or stupid. No telling from here. But this is something that can be used too easily for personal revenge.
I think once I make the decision to pickup and video the trash I would contact the person on the documents privately to let them know what's going on. Give them a fair chance to fix it. If they're guilty, they know it's bad idea to keep using that spot. If they're innocent, they can hang a security camera & see who's stealing their trash to dump it on the illegal site. I can't see the video either. If you actually saw the guy do it, OK, that's different. But if you're opening bags & videotaping the information on the stuff inside...
Posting to FB right off the bat is in my opinion morally & ethically wrong. But, yes, I've been falsely accused of a crime. If you haven't maybe you honestly didn't understand how it works. The police don't care. They will not go after people who frame other people. Real life is not the movies. At best they'll tell you it's a mess you can take to civil court if you're rich enough. Which is what happened to me. Since I was not rich-- most people aren't after all-- then the sociopath got away with it. You would not like to be helping a sociopath target somebody, would you?

I would have grabbed his garbage up and went to the POS house and told him he forgot to take his trash with him!!! Freakin' people that do that(trash the place) are morons!! Seen that a lot in North Dakota and Montana,it's also showing up here in Oregon too! Sure, some of them are morons. But morons are dangerous. I don't know that I'd go to the house. I'd find another way to safely send a message that there's a problem. Like mailing a letter to his mail box with the photo/video links in it. And if person is actually a victim of somebody playing a cruel trick on them, you can still send a message that way without getting involved and making yourself the next target. That's the way I've handled similar situations in the past. Going to the door... I'm a small person who has already been stalked. That's not how I handle it personally. The person whose name/house was in the trash definitely needs to be aware of what's going on but you need to think about your own safety too. There's something wrong-- whether it's inbreeding or a set-up or what... you can't know. So you need to be somewhat careful. Again IMHO. My experience has been pretty awful. I was targeted by a psycho. So naturally I'm going to give advice from the perspective of someone who was targeted.

Even the guy's sister said he was a douche bag. We got the right dude. Or his ex who stole his car. Either way someone is in trouble.

Video doesn't show stink, but trust me, it did and it would stay in your vehicle for a while afterwards.

Didn't anybody learn anything from Alice's Restaurant? Seriously, there are a couple places here that are used for dumping: furniture, yard waste, deer bones and other stuff left from the hunt, piles of bags of trash... One is an abandoned lumber road, might be the property owner who has done that one. It seems to be mostly construction related stuff that has been dumped. One of these places is a road which was turned into a nature trail. Gives the property owners on that road the fits, having to clean up and pay to have all the stuff hauled. It would make me mighty angry too. They have caught somebody a couple of times. One guy was even taking money to haul trash away from peoples yards and houses and leaving it there. Trash is a problem everywhere. It is not uncommon to find old private property trash dumps, a lot of times in an old gravel pit. Most people would fill a privy hole with trash when they moved the privy to a new spot. That is how everybody used to get rid of their unwanted stuff. Today it is archeological. I don't mind seeing a discrete dump on private property. People here used sink holes as trash dumps for years, what else was it good for, and why waste scarce farmland for your trash dump ? Revenge cases a whole 'nother thing. People problems are the worst kinds of problems there are.

When I lived in Chicago (in another life), I learned about 'fly dumping'. If you had something big like a dresser or an old mattress, sofa, etc that the regular trash guys wouldn't take, you loaded it in the back of your buddy's van or pickup and sent it flying as you drove down the freeway at 60 MPH in the wee morning hours. That was before cell phones and street cams. I expect they still do it though.

Even the guy's sister said he was a douche bag. We got the right dude. Or his ex who stole his car. Either way someone is in trouble. Eh, I hope you're right. I've learned not to make much judgments based on the words of people who badmouth family to strangers. Could be he's the douche, could be the sister is, could be the evil ex. The most likely thing is that there are no humans involved at all. Doesn't matter. I can't tell who the bad guy is from over here & I'm not going to risk accusing the wrong person.
