Since I don't write anything down regarding my tumbled batches, posting photos of my work here has turned out to be the easiest way to track results, progress and timeline. Gotta get these latest pics up before I get Tommy 's cabs out this weekend or the whole system falls apart. Quite an assortment this time, even a couple leftover Apache tears.

I just came back for a second look and I have mixed feelings now. Part of me wants to rush home and get my tumblers rolling again and part of me wants to go home and put a for sale sign on them.

Well, you and Jugglerguy. Both were generous enough to share your processes, which are very similar, when I got started. I promptly went out and got the Lot O, followed your 'instructions' and got good results. Now, I tumble like I cook. Nothing really measured or weighed, just use the recipe as a guideline and eyeball it based on best judgment. But the steps are the same.

Chuck HaHa! You've got 35 pounds of broken up rough ready to go, if I remember correctly. Whatcha waiting for?

Wow - seriously beautiful stuff Randy! It's really not fair though because I too stole Chuck and Rob's playbook as well as took their advice and the advice of others and tried to apply it - and my tumbles come out looking like crap haha.

Thanks, but I doubt that, Tommy. Besides, who needs to tumble rocks when you've got mad cabbing skills?

I hope to post material that looks this wonderful some day. At the rate my rocks are coming out of the rough stage, it might be next year. But this is what I'm shooting for. I always look forward to seeing your posts. I only have rotary tumblers, but I've seen plenty of great stuff come from them also. Just takes time. Lots and lots and lots and lots......

Thanks ChicagoDave. Respect to anyone going rotary only. I look at my Lot O as the reward for being very patient in the first stage. Easy street once you get them to that point.

You have to be one of the quickest learners here, Randy. You've skyrocketed to the top of the tumblers. I get excited every time I see that you've posted new tumbles. Those last two (or is it the same one?) are incredible.
Since you are giving me some of the credit for teaching you, I'd like to make a request for some reciprocal teaching. Could you start a thread with some photography tips sometime? I've learned to take some ok pictures, but nothing great. A lot of it has to do with my equipment, or lack of equipment, but I'm sure that you would do better with my setup than I have.
Thanks for the great show.

There were some pieces in Roger 's May prize box I never did identify. There was a lot to go through. That's what is starting to come out of the Lot O now.

Maybe you can start said thread, list your equipment and ask them to offer you kit specific advice!

Aye, aye, aye! This non-tumbler can sure see why some people tumble rocks, and I am glad. Beautiful results! Thanks!

I could work up a thread Jugglerguy @shotgunner. Let me get some thoughts together on the subject. After past work doing portraits, weddings, sporting events and such, it's a luxury to work with a subject that does exactly what I say and doesn't move until I say so. Gives lots of time for experimentation.
