My favorite is 15, but I also really liked 6 and 12. On another note, I think I am definitely going to try James' AO 80 trick. Anything that takes less work and gives such fantastic results is well worth trying.

Thanks James - it was only $21.90 instead of $23. Now I am going to have to get a couple more tumblers - these 2 3lb barrels with the picture jasper and some petrified wood are taking forever to get anywhere. ;-)

Now I am going to have to get a couple more tumblers - these 2 3lb barrels with the picture jasper and some petrified wood are taking forever to get anywhere. ;-) The coarse grind about always takes forever. Unless you pre-shape on a grinder by hand or start out with naturally rounded rocks. Nature of the beast vera. You may consider a larger tumbler for a faster coarse grind. Check out this one if still available: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/77310/high-speed-rock-tumbler-ebayYou could coarse grind 15 pounds and turn it off for a spell, finish them in your two 3 pounders at leisure. I have roughing tumblers and stockpile the rough shaped stones and finish them a few pounds at a time in a vibe or a smaller, slower rotary.

Nice work! Some world class pet wood that Jeremy is finding down there. I'm still waiting to get some of it through my barrels. Great pics as well! I wish photobucket showed exif data. I like snooping at camera techniques almost as well lol
