I love it! I really like what you did with the bail hole, too. Good idea.

Ready for flight. Thank you Bobby1. Material worked out much better than expected. Because you worked it better than many expected. Great piece. Safeguard it from dropsy friends..How about a picture with different light to showcase the exotic material? Just in case, I ever come into money and would be able to set into metals, I hid the hole for the cord behind the head (downward hole). . On to the next piece, Australian Black Jade. First try in a real carving in the round.A year late, was waiting for jade-symposium, but its not going to happen, so now, a "New Beginning". I usually melt the sides in order to hide the differences in style and/or proportions between back and front. This one should be clearly carved on 6 sides. Design drawn up nearly exactly a year ago, started today. Turned out really, really good . Because of your patience, fore thought and meticious skill level. You hit a grand slam on a beacutiful, expensive and diffecult material. Congratulation's. Cliff

[/p][/quote] The three pictures are in 3 different light-conditions (Out-door shadow, Outdoor full sun, and indoors). If you got FB, there are two shaky videos to see more of the movement (just look for my full name (Kainzer Kurt)).

The bird rocks, very unruly material that needed your patience to get it right. And you nailed it.

Oh yes progress!!! Thanx for the pics! Nearly done. New post here: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/79104/wip-black-jade-june-updateNo pictures yet, but just did transitions on the sides today. Tomorrow will see the top (flowerside to complete the cutting part. The bird rocks, very unruly material that needed your patience to get it right. And you nailed it. Thank you. I find Namibian material more stable than Chinese one. But on the other hand, personally, while I love the regalness of Namibian material, I do prefer the chaotic fibers found in Chinese material as well as the presence of all colours in the same piece.
