Thought rotting wood was their target lol.

That blade would revolutionize lapidary if it stays sharp. since it requires little pressure it should stay sharp. Doubt there will be a saw blade grind like it. Ganged blade super grinders, don't think they will come close. This 5 inch tuck blade cuts OK, but sucks compared to the 7 inch blade. No good reason, can't tell why. IT"S ALL IN THE SINTERING AND THE DIAMONDS USED 5 inch tuck blade(crap): 7 inch tuck blade, wicked. and diamonds look like crap ?$#%@# However, this sintering seems loaded with small particles. Never seen this before. And it shaves a very fine dust at a very fast rate. [img alt=" " src="https://c1.staticflickr. com/1/582/31998101572_c426d3c57c_b.jpg"][/quote It's been a year since James told us about this tuck point blade and I'm resurrecting the thread to solicit a report on how the blade has done since then. James, how is it doing now days? Thanks.

Already have the motor, arbor, pillow blocks. Don't have much excuse to procrastinate any longer. Am thinking about 1100 rpm. Thoughts?

Already have the motor, arbor, pillow blocks. Don't have much excuse to procrastinate any longer. Am thinking about 1100 rpm. Thoughts? Yep. I made the first machine with pillow blocks at about 1000 RPM. Cut slow. changed ratio to 1600, then changed ratio to 2200 One day I looked at the old old tile saw - $99 Home Depot cheapo about 25 years old. The 7" X 1/4" Advanta tuck blade bolted directly to it and just barely fit thru the blade slot in the table(if it didn't I would have ground the slot wider) Never looked back. Direct bolt on to 3450 RPM motor with precision rotation and 3/4 HP. It's all about speed.... By far the best performance because of 1) the shear speed and 2) the shear horsepower 3) direct mount to precision motor rotation(vibration and out-of-round is not acceptable). Plus the tile saw is so well grounded and with water proof motor. Uh, grinding is faster with point source contact of one blade. Stacked blades increase contact surface area and decrease grinding point pressure. Tuck and cup wheels are designed for high contact pressure. To remove the most material push the rock against the edge(corner) of one 1/4" blade. I ran them stacked on the pillow block machine and rock removal was way slower than a one blade set up. Bigger not always better, tell men that ha.

Love my little tile saw/super grinder. It sits out in the weather apparently unaffected. Fire it up for all kinds of grinding projects.
