Hi Folks. Just pulled this batch a couple of days ago and broke out the camera today. Most of this is Lavic with just a couple others. Perpetual coarse grind in a QT-66 with all other stages completed in a 45C. Still getting used to the camera. Used a tripod and ended up playing with exposure compensation for the first time. Truth be told, I HAD to learn to use it, as the first round of photos was underexposed, and I had to reshoot everything. Sweet tumbles Dave! Fantastic shine from a fully rolled batch! I can sympathise with your camera issues. I've struggled with tumbled rock pictures too. Took a few with the new camera and hated them! Gotta spend some time playing around with the lighting. Did you use a light box or strobes? Very well done!

Your usual great shine Dave. Did you tumble the bots with another batch for a few weeks longer than the jasper? ? That softy lavic sure looks nice.

I've gone back and forth trying to figure out if I want a light box/tent or exterior lights to help with my photos. I haven't quite figured that out yet. In the meantime, I'm improvising where I can. I really like #8. I'm intrigued- what is it? It is Botswana Agate. I was pleasantly surprised to see what looks like copper embedded in it, and that is on the end that you see. After finding it, I did some quick research, and it appears there was a healthy copper industry in Botswana back in the day. The brown(ish) color is definitely metallic, and copper is the only option I could think of...especially with the blue that accompanies it. Thanks for asking. Dave
