An old arbor Continuous rim, less aggressive grind for jeannie's cabochons aggressive turbo rim w/spacers for breaking down my preforms into hand ground rough spheres. Paid $25 for that beast. Already plumbed for water, motor was free. Need to wire up the switch, swamp cooler pump and power cords. Woot! TommyrockjunquieAzRockGeekcaptbobjamespaDave (Dave this can help you pregrind your tumbles to speed the process) juzwuzI bought the blades from a local supplier with an ebay store. I get better costs because ebay doesn't get 14% or whatever in fees. Advanta Tools. This is a family run business. Husband and wife work together all day. When the cutoff time for shipping is met. The wife goes and gets the kids from school while Dad packs and labels the boxes for the day. The have customers in every state. When UPS makes their pickup, dad locks up and goes hime to be with his family. A lovely situation. The goods are all high grade Korean mfg diamond tools. I highly recommend these folks and their products.

Inquiring newbs want to know. Dave The poly arbor mounted to the housing and all the rest came from the saw dude we both bought from. He gave me the motor and the housing/arbor unit was $25. This was once a commvercial piece of equipment meant to run expando wheels. I used spacers and saw blades instead. I am really pleased. Not 100% running yet, but close.

If I had something similar to this I would probably work more rock again. The grinding is the thing that started me moving on to something else.
Just had a brain thaw. There is plenty of shaft on my trim saw for extra blades and a different deck would be a snap. Use my weed sprayer for water instead of the sump pick up so the muck would flush out.
Thank you for jiggling my brain Scott. I love you man. Keep on keepin on. Jim

It's probably a Star Lapidary machine, I have one too. The old Lortone Max Pro 8 is also basically the same thing, the rock club has 3 of them in their lapidary shop. It was my first rough grinder in our old setup. I have kept it for a supergrinder. I have 10 or 12 blades I got (I think) from the original Lee. Need some kind of cart for the arrangement so I can use it outside

Looks great!!! I like that grill stand idea, too. Had to add the bracing to take the wobble out of it . Multi purpose stand , pick the grinder off and put a different machine on if I so desire . Haven't desired yet .

Haven't desired yet . Awesome idea Rich! (It is Rich, right? I suck at names!) I made a purpose built table for jeannie's cab machine and left room for the super grinder. This machine popped up, fortuitously, and filled the space. It will land in the new workshop I'm building. Sadly, it won't hold a feather to the one meviva built. Hers had space for cars and all that cool shit. Mine will be boring in comparison.

Those pesky cars take up so much room. Imagine all the cool rock stuff I could get if they weren't around. Lol The machine looks good. Looking forward to seeing what you make with it. Andrea
