52 degrees, windy, and raining here. But it's been nice (though cool) all week, so can't complain. I'll have to check the comp when I get home.

78, Sunny, no wind. Little too warm for this time of year but a nice weekend for the locals to get out into the mountains camping one last time. Hope the folks on the UP area and the trolls are getting a decent weekend. Love the area but hard with the rain so much. Got to like the walleye though and their massive rock.

Oops, a little big. Took me a half hour to figure out how to post them. Here are some of my best. The 3rd one down has flaws, but the shine was so nice.

Mostly I hear about wonderful blinding shines. Shiny is fine, but so is matte. Sometimes matte is better.

OK, OK, ChicagoDave's are shinier. And his photography is better. But mine are... more interesting

I was quite happy with how they turned out. I think I replaced one of the rocks in the picture with another one right before sending in - I don't quite remember. Good luck to everyone!

I didn't think you were making up things,..sober..grin Knew that you were learning the picture posting business like we all do. It was hard for me to learn and seems a bit easier for you. If you win, try for the Corvette, can trade it for a truck or a 4 runner SUV.

Some of the stones I shaped a little with hammer and chisel, and broke the edges a little with a grinding wheel. Minimal shaping for most.

Again, congrats to all that got entries in. Wouldn't it be fitting for a guy that doesn't tumble anymore to be the World Champ? What a way to go out! Pretty sure that's the only contest he's entered, 1 for 1 ain't bad. Go Dave!!!

Pretty sure that's the only contest he's entered, 1 for 1 ain't bad. Go Dave!!! That would rock (pun intended). I did win it as the first contest I had entered but I think I might have been tumbling a hair over a year when I entered. Seems like the competition is getting better each year though. Chuck

Garage RockerBack when I won my first one in 2013 there was not much talk about the contest here. My first entry had a bit of a story to it. Back then my son was the one that was into rocks not me. My son was a member of a local rock club for two years before I even joined. I think he joined when he was 11 as part of an after school program he was in. An elderly member of the club that sort of mentored him was ill so my son started shoveling his snow for him that winter. As a little bonus the guy entered my kid into the world tumbling contest. We had no idea what it was and had not heard of it before. My son was starting to lose interest in the hobby before the rocks got done with stage one so I took over and sure enough we won the dang thing. Chuck
