A month later and still not happy with the Bots. Have more skin to clean off. Also threw a Malawi baby in there just to see what would happen and it has some spots that need more grinding. The rest is looking ok. Back in they go for month 2.

Some appear to be rounding off more than others. The obvious agates look great.

Some I've added along the way. Wanted to see if they would help move the Bots along. Some of the Bots have major issues. Lots of fractures?

Agates are gorgeous, but take FOREVER!!! I have a barrel with some Mozambique's running in it. I haven't even touched the barrel in like a month and a half. It's running on the dual barrel tumbler, when I go to tend to the second barrel I let my eyes slide over it like it doesn't exist. I really should add fresh grit...

Now that I think about it, I have no idea what else is in that tumbler...or what else WAS in it...

Yeah, I'll take a peak Sunday. Wonder if it'll be a good or bad self-gifted surprise? 🤔

Some I've added along the way. Wanted to see if they would help move the Bots along. Some of the Bots have major issues. Lots of fractures? Yes there are fractures in botswannas. I used to work with a fellow that was a master of Mr Obvious style of stating the obvious. "Sometimes it just bees like that." I have been working at a camp this last summer. I expect to be here next summer. Kids are great, they see shiney as cool. Fractures as not there. There is a bit of crushed lakers in the gravel here. Them that look for agates manage to hit me up for a rock or two. I like watching their face light up and tear off to see Mom or partner or leader to show off their shiney rock.

I think most of us have not grown out of that face lighting up when we see a shiny rock-a least I haven't.
Out of this pound I got, most of them have deep fractures. Kind of turned me off from buying more, for now anyways. Keep thinking maybe its just me

One can take a hammer and chisel to finish the fracture in two. I know that bots need to be partially processed to be exported. I do not know if old stock bots are as fractured. I do know they are more spendy. I got some last spring from rocktumbler that were very nice, I went back for more and the second batch not so.
I have seen old stock at a couple of places, I may have 10 pounds or so to tumble, buying more seems unwise. Especially when there are hunks of mookaite, crazy lace, various jaspers, etc that I did not have. Did I mention mozambiques or banded Carnelians or even more etc.

I haven't gotten any Mozambique's yet. I do have some crazy lace, montanas, agua neuva, ocean jasper, ohio flint, cady, lavic and oh my way too many waiting in line to be tumbled, and I still bought myself a few pounds of lakers today. Couldn't help it..I needed them
