Awesome. Here is my economical answer. If you self collect hard stuff (jasper, agate, pet wood, quartz, flint, chert), then I'd go for a larger barrel. I prefer the Thumler's model B high speed (it consumes the same amount of energy as the Lortone 66/12 and runs more rocks faster)
If I didn't self collect much and/or ran softer stuff like glass or obsidian I'd get the Lortone 33b.
Keep the Nat Geo for the final few polishing stages since it sounds like you're getting good results with it.

I started with an AR-2 and was frustrated with leaking lids. Switched to a Lortone QT6 & have enjoyed it ever since. Never had a lid problem or needed to replace a part in several years. I've had it running continuously for a year or more at a stretch. Whichever size or configuration you choose, I'd recommend Lortone over Thumbler's. Also a very satisfied customer of The Rock Shed.
