I just did mine the other day, its working so far......The RPM's picked up a bit too... I'd like to pick up a few RPM's as well. I'm really not that sure I'm dealing with a belt slipping issue, but that has to be the case, unless this motor is simply getting tired. I gotta play a bit. Just grab the driveshaft on the tumbler and see what it takes to stop it.

Just grab the driveshaft on the tumbler and see what it takes to stop it. That's part of the "playing" I need to do. I've actually not got that particular tumbler running right now with a loaded barrel. When I get the chance, I'll fire it up and see what it does. Thanks for the reminder.

I use the Harbor Freight belts, they work great!

I'll bet you could use a round file to lengthen the slots. The labor is manual instead of powered, but it should be faster than using a drill bit. I've never had much luck using a drill bit that way. The files I use to sharpen my chain saw chains are cheap, readily available, and come in a variety of sizes. Just to change things up a bit...I like your avatar. Kind of reminds me of a Brad Paisley sort of thing. I'm a country guy at heart. In that sense, it sucks that I'm in a metropolitan area. One day that might change, but it would have been nice to do that some 30 years ago. OK...back on topic. Thanks for the advice. I'll have to check my files against what I have in drill bits.

I think the 45C uses a different belt but if you have this problem on 33B use a Thumler's A belt. Same belt on all Thumler's except T (T belt fit exactly the Harbor Freight back in the day). Good idea to use a braided hose over shafts (Tygon tubing or even a garden hose with the webbing). Prevents slipping and I think increases RPM slightly if thicker than original covering.
