I have 14. I got it on Amazon. The ONLY thing I don't like is that you can't set up your own presets for cropping. That annoys the hell out of me. what does set up your own presets mean? The program has cropping presets for common photograph dimensions. I would like to make my own. I could do it in PhotoShop. If I want to crop a bunch of stuff at 9x12 @72dpi, now, I have to change the settings EVERY time. I would like it to be sticky, so I could do it many times without changing anything.

Cabs look good. Another tip for taking pictures is experiment with different color backgrounds. Sometimes a dark background works well for a dark stone. Also, I'm wondering if your camera lens is dirty, giving you the softened look to your photos. (reason I mention this is I find when I'm taking pix I often need to wipe off my phone's camera lens as it's smudged with finger prints) Agree on all counts. Seeing the photo, my first impression was a dirty lens. Hopefully that is the case, as that's an easy fix.

Very pretty cabs, Julie!
rockjunquie do you mean resizing presets are actual cropping presets? My brain go confused.

Cropping and resizing are not the same thing. with cropping you chopping off unwanted parts of the photo and resizing you just making the original photo smaller or larger for whatever reason. I resize to put on here if they are too big. I crop first then resize.

Yes, you're doing both. I've never used that program, but I can see that you have the ability to crop reduce the pixels in one swipe.
Thanks!

I am learning how to do it with elements, always a learning curve. I usually do manual cropping rather than to a preset size depending on what the subject is. It would be handy to have preset that is outside of what is listed.

Tela, it was always my understanding that DPI actually has little or nothing to do with photo quality, if that's what you're changing it for. It really used to do with scanning and printing of photos. To be sure, I looked around a bit and found this site. Looks like it has a bunch of information about the relationship of DPI/PPI and what it means for digital photography. Maybe you already know this, but I thought I'd pass it along.

Nice cabs and PSE discussion. I have been using PSE and PS for over 20 years. Tried Gimp, but do not like it. I am running PSE 2.0, which does not have the haze feature.
The cabs are very nice. Like the variety of materials and shapes.

The way I learned it is the computer screen can only display 72 dpi. Anything more is just hogging bandwidth. It will make a picture "heavier". I'm not changing it for picture quality. If I was to print a picture, I would use 300 dpi.

Those cabs are excellent, Julie. If you like working in the size range of those smaller ones (or even smaller), you could make pairs for earrings. Hmmmm, good advice for me, too, since I'm often working small material. I have major difficulty making twin stones

Oh and yeah I’m sitting here brainstorming the blurry picture thing and it reminded me of my eyesight pre-cataract. Like looking through waxed paper. So I cleaned the camera lens and voila! This post got really long now I have to read it all. Probably great info in here, random pic before and after. .

They look really great! Do you have any settings for your camera? Grid, Scan QR codes, Record video ..., record slo-mo Nothing that would have helped but maybe something relevant to other issues. What is "grid"?

I'd have to assume that when it's selected, it places a grid overlay on your screen. If that's the case, it's designed to help with photo composition and probably somewhat corresponds with the "rule of thirds" when it comes to composing your photos. It won't be a setting that improves photo quality relating to lighting, sharpness, color saturation, or other photo adjustments.
