Been lurking for years. I used to watch me miner and Michigan rocks on YouTube, couldn’t believe they were on this site. It’s a wealth of information and nice people.one last thing, people have the neatest cleanest shops. My rock stuff is jammed in a corner of my shop, gotta step over boxes of rocks and tumbling paraphernalia, but tumbling gets done!

My rock stuff is jammed in a corner of my shop, gotta step over boxes of rocks and tumbling paraphernalia, but tumbling gets done! Welcome to the forum, Jimmy. We've all been bitten by the rock bug, but not all by the "neatness" bug, lol. Some will tell you a clean rock shop is the sign of a sick mind. Something like that... It goes against ones sensibilities to see a clean rock saw. Due to the nature of this messy business, you can buy a new rock saw, and tell yourself you are going to be meticulous about keeping it clean, then realize how much time you are spending on that endeavor, vs. how much time you are actually sawing rock. Many give up after awhile. I am in the messy group. Welcome to the forum from southern California. You will have fun here. Edit to add - My mostly-self-collected rocks are spread out all over the house and yard, but mostly on the patio. No horizontal surface is safe!
