Well, 2021 will be my 4th year of this torture. 2018 that stuff was so tough some of it took more than a year in rough grind. 2019--well--I'll skip commenting. 2020--well, ditto there. But, where else can you inflict such personal pain and anguish on yourself for only $35? Those who have succeeded on this quest truly have my respect as they really know what they are doing in rotary tumbling!

This year's material was certainty tough to work with and I must say I was super surprised with the results of the competition. I almost didn't even submit anything due to the never ending pits. Because it was my first time taking part in the competition I went ahead and submitted anyways and I'm glad I did. For me to even be included in the company of TheRock and Drummond Island Rocks is crazy! These guys are your real tumbling experts! -Joe from IL

The Burris Creek Jasper I am seeing online looks a whole lot like the lavic jasper we got this year.
So this should be 'fun'. Hoping that the pieces I get hold together better. Everything I had was littered with fractures and pits leaving me with pretty small pieces that would have actually been competitive enough to send in, but really too small to be worth it.

Tommy isn't Burris Creek out of the Black Butte Reservoir? Yep ... there is only about a half of a mile of Burris creek available for picking from where it and the north fork of Stony Creek meet at Black Butte. Burris Creek quickly ducks under a barbed wire fence and heads off onto private property. That whole area is crawling with rockhounds every day it seems but yet it keeps producing interesting material - mostly hematite laden jaspers and the occasional agate or poppy jasper.

I humbly Thank you all! Thanks for putting up with me and leading me down the path of polishing sake, There is so many of you, that are a tuff act to follow. Drummond Island Rocks is just one of many. Congratulations to stoutrocks Joe and Drummond Island Rocks Chuck for some fine polishing! This stuff was a real poota and I have to admit a few times I damn near threw in the towel but I kept fighting on. I have learned so much in the past 3 years from all of you, and running 13 + tumblers gave me a crash course in tumbling. There are chores to be done everyday, I thought I was retired but I guess not! Trial and error, it has definitely been a long road, full of disappointments and a little success. but It's made me to learn patience, and so much more for........
