I don't use anyt slurry thickness and just want to clean at the end. I do use ceramics as well
Like I mentioned previously, depends on the stone type and type of grinding/polishing compound being used..........It's been my experience that some liquid soaps work well when using an AO as your prime grinding/polishing compounds. Some do not work well if using SC compounds. It also depends on how well your grinding/polishing process has eliminated all of the nooks & crannies from the stones........detergents of any type, when added to the grinding compounds, may or may not accelerate the ease of cleaning.......they may also contribute to the adhesive aspects when collected in those nooks & crannies, making cleaning more time consuming........you just have to experiment to see what is actually helping and what isn't.
I stopped adding detergents to my bowl vibe compounds, at every stage. I only use them after I've dumped the slurry, quick rinsed the stones/media and then reload the bowl with stones/media, a little water and detergent.........(only if the compounds have seemed to cling and stick to the stones more than expected) and run again for a couple of hours.........making sure I don't get stones rattling together, just spinning and circulating within the bowl..........then I do my individual deep hand and brush cleaning with Borax , on almost every type of stone.
I mentioned as a slurry thickener because I (and others) have found sugar, dry detergents, to help at times with that aspect........but now that I exclusively use clay products for that purpose, no more detergents.
Hope this helps some..........like a mentioned before, I don't use a Sonic.....just bowl vibes.......a way different application process with moving parts......!
