Cool front is pushing clouds and rain through here Thursday night so the cloud cover may prevent me from getting a photo.

Forecast looking crappy tonight, rain and ~100% sky cover till 1am, then slowly improving towards morning. Might get lucky with a break in the clouds around 4am peak.

2:00 am - Rain's stopped, still completely overcast, not even a hint. 2:30 am - ditto
Here's a live feed.

2:50 am - BINGO! Sky cleared up, beautiful bright moon, maybe 3/8 covered right now. That live feed looks like crap compared to what I see up there.

Good show. Had some scattered clouds for a little while after 3:00 but by 3:30 the sky had that cold-front-just-passed-through crystal clear look.

I was pretty stoked to see this...but missed it. This morning my wife was saying she was sorry she missed it too. I did remind her that we did get to see red moons all summer long due to all the smoke in the air this summer...so there's always that! RickB - Phenomenal captures! Thanks for taking and posting those!

I slept through it. Oh, well, wasn't supposed to be all that visible out west anyway. mohs the White Tanks are pretty much due South from here, sun and moon rise straight out from the new front porch slab, as soon as I can put a roof up there I want to put a couple chairs and a table for morning coffee and afternoon shade.

RickB great pictures! Thanks for posting them.
We had light clouds yesterday and last night so we opted out of dragging our sorry butts out of bed to see it. Still have light clouds this morning, but did get to see the moon setting in the west.

those are fine shots rick ! excellent Thanks Ed, I set my internal clock for an hour before the peak eclipse time. I woke up 52 minutes before peak time so my internal clock was off by 8 minutes. Auto focus didn't like zooming in on a bright object (the light side) and a darker object (the side with Earth's shadow) of the eclipse or I could have gotten sharper photos. Colors are about the same as what I was seeing. Posted the photos and went back to bed for a couple hours.
