Decades ago on 1 of my many moves, in my 1971 Dodge window van, loaded down, pulling U-Haul trailer, coming out of Phoenix, ascending I-17 on early cold late December morn, near Black Canyon city, the van caught fire! Now I did realize it. Butte the person who was moving w/ mohs, & following me in another vehicle came screaming on the walkie talkie PULL OVER PULL OVER
Remarkable that there was a large right hand pull out areas on that high grade mountain climbing hiway. Moment I came to smooth ha rolling stop the cab (as the inside of the van) filled with smoke. Immediately I got the sleeping passenger out of the vehicle ! Then somehow I got the cowl loose from the engine & heaved it aside Mistake! Minute the oxygen hit small flame
Maker Flash Point & Flames ! [/i] I wouldn't say my life flashed before my eyes Butte a few seconds did. see I was busy at the moment Well to make a long story longer … (moral and purpose for posting this } is about electrical fires ! Try to disconnect your battery cable if ya can! ---safely and w/ poise--- If your vehicle catches fire! Because a shorting electrical fire Is the worse kind! And carry fire extinguisher !

Right on Lee did you guys ever make it to the Vulture Mine that one of three on the butte list hassayampa & alamo lake and all points in between rolling Haven't done the vulture city tour yet, we should go together. One of my Wickenburg co-workers is a bit of a historian for that area, a theory is that that the gold Waltz had from time to time came from a miner who was stealing from the Vulture Mine, maybe one of the bunch who were hung. Possibly a connection to why he disappeared. Yo Lee Out by the Supers & finding Nutting to high grade besides a Gneiss Butte Soon ! My childhood rock pal Nhoj Went with the Vulture high grade theory very plausible Some German Phoenix miner/settler pocketed some gold ore To fool the local on its origins- he’d trek into the Supers- and claim and/or it was just assumed that was the source of the gold. So another legend based on some scanty facts. There was another lost treasure tale I read about at the Vulture. Supposedly there was heist of some processed ore A long posse search through the Hassayappa ensued. Well they caught the high graders. Hung them on the ironwood tree. Butte they never recovered all the loot. So it still out there to be stumbled upon. I’m on my way Ha Ha Here a picture from my self-administered tour 15 yearsago When the sign say watch your step The aren't a kidding Dangerous place to be stumbling around aimlessly ha I did it well ,,, plau it really thrills me that you mentioned the LDM ya know were on the last round up all that left is stories thrilled to be able to still recount them wish the old gang could get together one mor time now it just sad e-mails keep on and soon!
