I have been cutting Fire Agate on a more or less regular basis now for a little more than 4 years. It has taken me a long time to be able to get good windowed rough on a consistent basis. I cut them for over 2 years for a jeweler and her source. When she passed away I inherited her source. I am now one of three who receive their rough here in the United States direct during the their off season.

You are right when you speak of the strenght of children. They said he would be in UCLA for a week recovering....they released him in 48 hours....they said he would be on meds for months......they never gave him anymore after the initial dose to stabilize his blood pressure...normalized in 24 hours. Joshua is pretty strong and I believe he will have a long life trouble free since we decided to do it while he was so young.

Some of you may know this already but my youngest son Joshua had open heart surgery when he was 7 month old to correct a coarctation of the aorta. He is now 3 years old and doing fine. You would never know but for the scars. Anyways I just wanted to share this photo of him taken other day. Out here in Bakersfield it is still hot so he decided to fill a bucket of water and make his own personal swimming pool!!

Thank you Mel & Steve. They do look like snowballs. Kinda sugary on the outside. Some of them have red formations in the hollows. I found these at an estate sale.
This is the first time I ever saw these. I was pretty surprised when I cut one open....lol!!!
Thanks fellas.

The rough this fire agate cab was cut from is out of Calvillo, Aguascalientes, Mexico, as is all the fire agate I have in stock.
A lot of fire agates are somewhat directional. This one will show different colors at different angles. Makes it hard to get a photo. I must warn you Cathy....once you start cutting fire agate it is very hard to stop. They are VERY ADDICTING to say the least!!!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments
Christopher

Those are some beauties Randy. I dug that plume agate out of the Santa Monica Hills out on Kanan Road last year. They say there is marcasite agate out there too.....I couldn't find it though...maybe next time.

Pick up a few of these the other day. The eggs are from a little bigger than golf ball size to a little smaller than a baseball size. I think they may be out of Mexico. cut one open and found this Any help with the ID would be greatly appreciated.
