Nice pieces. Don't agree with some of the ranking, but.....

Creepy crawly fell, rescue in order. Fourth element arrived. Time to put it together.

Love the variety one gets with Montana. No piece will ever be the same.

[quote author=" Jugglerguy" source="/post/996983/thread" timestamp="1526383955" Don't leave us hanging. What are the other three? Fire agate? Jade? Granite? (I didn't have a third guess.)[/quote] One out of three, not bad, with all the options.... Fire Agate of course, Spectrolite and Pietersite. They where my favs from the beginning, and while I hardly work them now (save FA), they still are... But,... Montana still tops them all.

Looking good, lets hope those fractures are healed and hold up. Love working Montana's, they still are one of my four favorite materials, but often get frustrated by things falling apart.

I for one stopped buying newspapers and watching any kind of "news" 4 years ago. Don't wanna start and end every day with nothing but "bad news". Still get enough throughout the day, and anything important seems to get through if/when I need it.

Is the creepy crawly moonstone? Nope, decided on using Australian opal. Mostly potch, but solid and easy to polish.

Look turns out more that of a maggot. Never mind, as long as it looks creepy in the end. Shape seems ok overall. Lets hope I can carry it beyond the sanding to the polish. While this creature has essentially a fixed place, I'm still waiting for a silver spider before committing individual pieces to their places. Centepede added by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr

Did something break away from the Pinolith? The original layout seemed perfect before rounding it up..... End-result still stunning, but......

Nope. No way. Yet I know that when we are not home, they do utilize the sofa, and if given the chance of an open door, a bed. But they know they should not, so they try very hard not to let us see it....

kk... How 'bout Owl faces for a carving project. They are kind of cute. Did a few, but nothing special came of them. Maybe I should revisit an abandoned project from a couple of years ago.

Gift it to kk Cannot imagine what he would do. I see a dinosaur head or a lizard head. neither do I. It usually comes down to what it looks like at hand, and everyday occurrences that are happening at that particular moment. Most of the things I do are spur of the moment creations that need to be started right away. Otherwise the idea would be lost.

Slowly getting there. Lips, tongue and teeth are polished and fused. Foul language project WIP by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Still struggling with accepting my limitations working the size of the scorpion. Not happy with overall shape. Tail needs to change, and I hope that will give the creature instant recognition. Just to get an idea what size we are talking about....... Foul language project WIP by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Its my own fault, pride does not agree with me getting magnifying visors yet,.... But cant put it off forever, I suppose.

I thought of turning some of my 40x30mm Aventurine oval cabs into backings... sort of carve out the Turritells shape through half the cab's thickness and imbed/mount the shell. (OH Nooooo!!! kk's carvings have finally caused me to go off the deep end!!! Elephant tusks!!!! Hmmm....) Glenn Go for it! If it does not work, you still got the option to reenforce the shell imprint on the cab for a unique cab. Can't be worse than using dino to attempt to resemble an 8mm scorpion..... (and by the way, the moonstone tusks are holding up well. Was wearing the elephant 24/7 on several occasions without problems. )
