Still sorting and rinsing stuff off, but here are a couple more pictures. At one point in our wanderings we collected some fluorite. Here it is under UV light. Have a great day, everyone. Russ

Lovely trip! Good looking rocks and fossils. What is that pure sky blue rock? What a beauty! Thanks. This one, Pat? That is Mt. Airy blue chalcedony.

liveoakWell, I just set the saw for thinner slabs. Need to have a pretty solid rock to start with, but it works pretty well. Russ

Just saw this thread. Jean, thanks for those links, and everybody thanks fr the other info. I knew there was a museum over there but had kind of forgotten about it. Have to visit the campus a couple times a year, we'll try and work in some extra time to visit the museum.

Well, it was last weekend in Ely, NV. Meant to post something a week or so ago and didn't get it done. Oh well, we got through it, even had some rain on Saturday. Ok, most of Saturday. Our booth on Sunday morning after the sun came out. Some of our stuff. Among the sun catchers the moons and the saguaros are new this year. I keep trying to come up with new ideas.
The night lights are another new item this year. Sold well. Looking on down the row. A little local color or humor. I took this picture back in June when we did the little rock show at the museum in Ely. The cemetery is just across the street. Every night the buzzards roost in the trees in the cemetery. Caught them on Sunday morning as they were just starting to get going for the day. Had a great weekend even with the rain. We wound up getting almost a half inch of rain over a couple of days. So far this year we've had about 0.75 inch in our gauge at the house. Lots of people came through, and our sales were a little ahead of last year. Thanks for looking. Have a gat day. Russ

I'll agree, it depends on the piece. I've tumbled some that turned out really well, though.

Imagine-just driving down the road at Burro Creek and who do we run into-a couple of RTH members. Lee Rockoonz good seeing you again and brybry good meeting you. Too bad you had to skip Dobell but just put it on the list for the next trip. Had to run home for a day and heading back in the morning for a day or two. Russ

Thanks all, just having a little fun here.
Probably not the guy to do tutorials, don't actually know what I'm doing. Just make it up as I go.
Thanks again.

Playing in the Stoopid Room again during the latest little stretch of cold and snow.
The hills at the bottom and the sun are all self collected material. The green and blue were purchased. still need to finish it and get it hung up. Size is about 5.75 x 7 inches. Just playing with something new. Thanks for looking, have a great day. Russ
