There's some very nice pendant material in there! I personally like the moss agate in there. Jim Thanks Jim! That was some stuff from James.

Your a machine, 14 loads already ! Ever notice how those super hard agates don't like to round off ? Georgia chert and coral likens to Mohs 36, it takes forever to round it off in step 1. Montana and Brazilian, many others are just plain hard tough rocks. Even if they can scratch each other(same hardness) some rocks must have a toughness that prevents them from rounding off. Nice batch Ashley. When you going to get some of that fancy eyeball rhyolite, that stuff is a trip. jamespDo you have photos of that eyeball stuff? Sure nursetumbler, I missed named it, it is called leopard skin jasper rightfully so. There is a post close to this one from lapidarycentral. I hope to get some, sure you understand... Imagine owning a whole lava flow in your backyard loaded with tons of this stuff. Oh well, nice dream anyway. check it out, incredible eh ? Nature's finest ?

Love the corals Ashley. Note on coral, it can silicify to many various colors and often is found in large pieces. It already is semi-rock so that when it silicifies it often becomes very hard and makes great high polish tumbles. And it is full of capillaries to allow for efficient silicification intrusion and mineral/metal salt intrusion making fine colors.
So those are 3 fine reasons to pursue finding coral locally. It must be from near the Great Lakes where an ancient ocean likely existed.
There is a section of the Withlacoochee River in south Georgia where the river removed the sand and clay from a whole ancient petrified coral reef. Unfortunately it is on the river bottom in about 15 feet deep water and the brain shaped coral heads are 3 to 4 feet round making collection near impossible.
Anyway, it is a stone you might pursue...

jamespIt sure would be nice to own that lava flow! It is my understanding (though I can't say for certain as I've never been there and just heard 'stories'), that there are actually multiple leopard skin lava flows in that area, but that some are better than others. I know I've seen junk punky leopard skin that is closer to a pomice, and I've seen the leopard skin like ours that is nice and solid and even takes a great polish. We personally love it, its probably one of my favorite rhyolites to cut in the slab saw. Even though it all looks somewhat similar, there is just something about it that makes your jaw drop with each new one cut.

Without a doubt the most ornate rhyolite imaginable. I'm really looking forward to working with it. Would love to see photos on site. Guessing some lucky rancher found it in the back corner of his property. Probably has acres of it !

jamespThank you for the wisdom James! Where there is a little there is a lot. Sorta like mice Ashley The petrified coral 'reef' in south Georgia to Tampa Florida must be 50 miles wide and 250 miles long. But only accessible where a thick layer of soil/sand has been removed by creeks, rivers or grading operations.

The moonstone was my first batch, but not a successful one. Bit off a little more than I could chew with that. Will try to re-run it though. So far the bloodstone and others are looking quite nice. I'm going to burnish between each to give me a better chance of shine at the end Fingers crossed!!
