Rain, cold and wet, likely to continue for six hours. Low temp this am was 36 freezing degrees! I read that as 36 "different F-word" degrees! LOL |

O jean Figure I tell my long story stressful hPpy ending story here Give you something to do and maybe a smile As mention earlier- I ventured up yesterday on a cloudy cold morn to South Mountain to capture the Shadows and Shades crawling across The valley floor and buttes Plus I hiked deep onto this one butte trail, I followed a ravine of blackish volcanic well sorted mineral material. I took it to be volcanic flow? It may have just been an accumulative drift of fine sorted sediment with a desert varnish? Not sure. Butte it caused me to scrape at it with my crow bar. Very soft and crumbly with a greenish sub texture. So I scraped at the soil w/ my trusty crow bar I was wondering if it was any good for potting soil? Of course I took a picture w/ the ELF and went about my happy way  Now I had been on that mountain for about 5 hours. It was one o’clock, Time to head down. I stopped about 4 miles ahead for a Big Mac. What do I discover? I don’t have my ELF! I left it somewhere back up on the butte!
Uuuuggggg ggggghhhhhhhhhh…. panic !!
Silly! Its just a camera! Easily replaced. Not all that expensive- except to porsolmo. Yet- its part of me. I felt bad. How could I leave my ELF behind?! So I had to make a decision. I thought of going back the next day. I was tired. Its long twisty drive climb back up that mountain. Plus it was pretty good hike where I think I last left it. Bad weather forecast tho . Best to go back now, So I take my Big Mac and drive back up. Hike the trail and lo & behold!
The ELF!   Laying all by its lonesome on the cold black soil.  It was so happy to see -me I swear it flashed. Well now it was 2:30. Figured I stay up on the mountain, get some rest, and wait for sunset. Well Jeanie that it for now I’m not feeling to great/ So I’m just in this room And trying to convalesce Hope it was pleasant way to spend some time And the rest is mostly good for you! Ed |

Good morning Jean. Still praying for your girl. Hey if you are not warm ask the nurse to bring you a couple of blankets. They don't want you to be uncomfortable. Hospitals are dang refrigerators. Normally I'm packing the truck and trailer to head down to the camp in central Florida at this time to migrate from the cold. Well that place got sold so stuck in Atlanta with a heat pump since the wood stove is out of service. Maybe this will help warm your mind, 120F in the Sahara !  Beware, this lady will spit on you.  |

Rockpickerforever, I hope that whatever medical intervention occurs will allow for a full recovery. We are blessed to have such good doctors in the US and hope all goes well with whatever procedure is performed. Keep us informed.
