I finally got around to cleaning up & patinating my one attempt at chasing, so thought I'd show it off before we framed it.
A copper trilobite 3 3/4" tall X 2 1/4"
Thanks for looking,
Patty

Thanks Tela, rockjunquie. It was a lot of hammering - however I didn't do it in one sitting, I worked on it for quite awhile. Patty

That's going to look fantastic in a frame...because it already looks fantastic...so the frame will just be framing a fantastic Repoussé piece!!

Too silly jasoninsd , only you would come up with some funny GIF about hammering I do think it's cool & am looking forward to hanging it up on the wall.
Thank you,
Patty

How big is that? Small like a quarter, or more like the size of a Roman shield?

I don't think I could afford the copper for a Roman shield, or the pitch pot big enough for that matter

Wow, Patty, you sure have a bunch of different talents! That looks great. No way I would have guessed it was your first one. Kudos!

It was fun, it did take a while , but in the end was worth it.
Guess I should try a different one.
It is one of those things, that although takes awhile, is almost calming, tap, tap, tap, tap (goes the hammer) - but maybe I should ask Tom what he thought .
Thanks for looking, Patty

liveoak I vote for the next one to be an ammonite! They’d look great framed and displayed together as a collection.

Patty, that's really great! I tried it once, and failed miserably once. My hat is off to you!

Thank you Susan , susand24224 . It was a fun project. I seem to try my hands on lots of different things. Certainly keeps things interesting. Although I'm sure some would say (and probably not wrongly) that if I stuck with only one avenue of the craft I'd get better at it. But hell, life is short & I'm having fun (most of the time). Thanks for your kind words, Patty

Thanks for your kind words, Patty Patty! This sounds so familiar--I get tolerable at one technique or "something" then move on to the next. I often say that I'm tolerable at many things, but a master of none--so nice to hear others do the same thing!
