Beautiful cabs! The 4th and the 3rd Owyhees, together with the 1st Fairburn, are my favorites. But the batch is full of other beauties. Adrian Thanks Adrian! I've only cut two slabs off the 2 pound chunk of that Original Owyhee piece. I really like the blue section as it adds a nice "skyline" landscape...but I'm REALLY hoping there's going to be more of the pronounced Original Owyhee pattern further in the rock...fingers crossed! I know pigs root out truffles...maybe we need to rent him an Ellensburg sniffing warthog! LOL Thats what I got Randy for..... LOL - I love that damn dog! (I can...because I don't have to put up with his crap every day! LOL)

What a ball! I'm somewhat jealous--I only have porcupines and the kitten from H*ll. If you head up toward Saddle Mountain, I'll bring you lunch. Just do it! I could do that. I have family in Moses Lake. I live 20 miles from Moses Lake. How much Ellensburg blue did you want, or maybe a better question is did you want to cab it or just look at it and salivate? There's a rock shop in Cle Elum (about an hour from Ellensburg) that *occasionally* has some. . .

You probably already know this, but most of the nodules are small; finding a large one is a prize! And almost all of it is located on private property I've been told. When I first moved here (12-13 years ago) the farmers in the area would let people go on their property and look, but a few messed it up for the rest of us by leaving holes, etc., that aren't all that great for cattle.

I appreciate it. I’m well aware on general size of specimens. I know a guy who’s got a couple sandwich bags full of it who willing to trade material. Problem is, I’m not willing to trade for what he wants 😂

I for one would actually believe the "24 hours straight on the wheels", it sure seems when you get cabbing-
YOU GET CABBING ! I feel lucky to get 1 or 2 cabs out in a session !
My fav is the second BRUNEAU JASPER, the flow in that pattern is cool- good capture. And the third OREGON JASPER is just beautiful.
Your shines always amaze.
I also appreciated the group shot with a scale.
Thank you,
Patty

Thanks Patty! I don't think my fingers could've taken 24 hours straight! LOL - Obviously some cabs took longer than others...but for some reason I looked at the clock just as I was starting that 3rd "local" Jasper. That cab took 23 minutes to finish. That didn't include taking it off dop or doing the bevel on the bottom edge...so add another 90 seconds I guess. LOL That Bruneau is really cool in person. My camera is focusing too much on the surface...but the top "band" is folding over on itself. You can kinda see it in the pic...

Beautiful work as always Jason! That Owyhee really does look like Rocky Butte. Of course, the Fairburns are always spectacular but I'm really liking the 3rd Owyhee and the 3rd local jasper from Susan! I am liking that shape better with the Peanut wood than I did with the Gary Green!

I think that was the last of my "usable" Fairburn material...unless I cut into my own finds...which probably won't happen! LOL That Peanut Wood shape is extremely intriguing to me...because I think it really does look better this time...

A lot of these shapes are actually fun to cab. The Peanut Wood has so many quick directional changes, it's not one you can space out while working! LOL
