I finished these two 16mm circle cabs in a trade deal with a member. They're Mexican Royal Velvet Obsidian. I don't have a cab rest...and I don't have any faceting equipment, so these little turds were knuckle busters trying to get the girdle just right. LOL They each have a 2.5mm girdle and 5mm dome height. There's a slight angle to the girdles for settings. It's the first time I've ever had to make cabs with specific criteria for size. I was way more stressed working these than I thought I would be! LOL As always, thanks for taking a gander!

I swear, I'm pretty sure I was holding my breath the entire time I was shaping the dome on these two! LOL - I did the initial pass on one...then I'd grab the other and do the same pass with that one...that way I was positive the angles were going to be the same. I kept switching the cabs back and forth with each different angle until they were both domed...as close to the same as I could! LOL

Nice work. Cutting calibrated ain't easy -- I did it for years. It's especially tough when the template size differs from the calibration of the setting, which happens a lot more often than it should. Great polish on those.

I'm not sure my heart could take years of doing these! LOL - I'm sure I'd get more confident the more I do...but being the first "calibrated" set I've done, it was nerve-wracking for sure! LOL - Yeah...the polish came out pretty good for just having put new wheels on not that long ago! LOL

Excellent job on a matched pair, Jason! I will agree that custom cutting calibrated cabs is stressful to say the least -- and circles no less! Me no likey doing it. I will if I must, but I prefer not to.

I will if I must, but I prefer not to. Thanks Robin! I've done plenty of circles...but none this small...and none where I felt they HAD to be as close to perfect as possible! I'm not saying I half-a$$ed any of the other ones I've done...I just knew I had a bit more room for error in the other ones! LOL

Notice I didn't name any names! LOL I did notice, but I have my guesses. LOL I did have a choice...and chose to do these. So, I'm not "really" complaining...it's just fun to "whine" about things once in awhile! LOL

jasoninsd. My guess is the other member involved in the trade knew you do a spectacular job-which you did. My goodness those are beautiful.
