Thats not too big far as my experience, but a picture would help also. I polish 3-4” rocks in my raytech 5, so you may be surprised at the size rock you can do. Thanks ! Will try one in the Vibe the next time it is empty and see how it moves. Am working on "the picture" thingy .... one technical issue at a time is all I can handle and the vibe has priority just now ! Oh, I use a lot of small agates and ceramics in my vibe. I use small and medium agates/jaspers in my rotary.

That's ridiculous you have such easy access to beautiful rocks. I am envious! Lol, I was thinking the exact same thing as I looked at velodromed’s awesome haul!

Check out this beautiful piece of petrified wood. It’s been through several course stages and then I pulled it out to consider what I ultimately want to do with it. I don’t think I’m going to course tumble it anymore. I really like the way it looks as it is now…

I really like the way it looks as it is now… Nice looking petrified wood with good grain, the only issue might be the big flake piece in the 2nd picture top left. It could decide to break off. I have seen that with some of the flat pieces of wood, they can separate into thin layers when you don't want them too. Have tried to flake off a piece or two with an old screwdriver, with good to disastrous results. Probably just leave it and hope for the best.

I looked closely at it and none of the layers are loose enough to flake off. I’m not going to course run it anymore. I think it’ll look best with a satin sheen. Only problem is it’s too big for all of my tumblers, except the rebel 17. So it might have to wait a while lol.

That's ridiculous you have such easy access to beautiful rocks. I am envious! I do like to trade rock with people. I’ve done six or seven exchanges so far. Either small flat rate boxes ($10) or medium flat rate ($17) boxes thru the post office. They can be extra rock from buying to much or local stuff. I really like local stuff from states that I can’t get to. I see you’re in New York, and I have no idea what rock you have there so would be very curious. Keep it in mind for sometime in the future.

These are one of my favorite finds. Tumbles beautifully into a lite bluish Calcedony with all sorts of interesting inclusions.

I like following your finds Velo, some interesting material makes it into your hands Thanks! I like to trade rocks, so keep that in mind and message me sometime if interested. It’s a good way to experience rocks from other states without as much expense. I’m on hold for several weeks so we can move, then I’ll be back to trading.

This is my stepdaughter’s favorite rock. We called these painted jasper for lack of any known name. They are definitely Jasper and look painted so, yeah. I’ve been working on this one for many months. It just finished several days of pre-polish (it’s bone dry here). Unfortunately, I managed to put a nice size scratch on the front. Hopefully it won’t be as noticeable after a few more days of polish. I could start it over, but the kid doesn’t care.

One of the things I plan on doing it as we move is to get organized and slowly shift from quantity, to quality.

I agree with you, velodromed , it does get a bit chaotic trying to keep track of it all. I’ve been keeping track of dates and such on my physical calendar, but just started keeping a journal with detailed info on dates, which rocks I’ve added to coarse grind, what they look like, who they came from, etc. I just ordered another 33B that’ll be here next week, so it seems like time to knuckle down and keep better records. Another tumbler-WHOOHOOO!!
